Around Waterton in Black & White and Colour

DSC08106.jpeg

Today I’m leading with Black & White versions of the Wonderful mountains of Waterton National park. As beautiful as they are in colour, the B&W’s have their own unique flavour and geometric shapes, which tend to come out more in this genre. That being said, I found it tough to get the colours accurate. When you are photographing from a distance, mountains tend to become a bit creamy blueish. Which are your favourites today? Thanks for stopping by.

I still prefer the colors, simply because that landscapes are so beautiful that taking away the color is like cutting out a part of it... Black and whites makes you see more the shapes and such without 'distractions'

For me, there is merit in publishing both versions, I guess it is just part of my dna now..it is like seeing both sides of the coin in a sense. Thanks.

Of course everyone has its preference, it's like is better pizza or pasta? There is no correct answer just a personal preference 😅

Great photos, the mountains look really epic. The black and white ones remind me of when I was at Yosemite while there was a wildfire in the park. All of the ash in the air made for a dark and creepy vibe the whole time.

The smoke makes everything really gnarly and dark, beautiful in it's own way. Never been to Yosemite, but it is on my radar.

Yeah, I completely agree, the smoke added a cool mysterious element to the place. Yosemite is nice, great waterfalls, giant sequoias and wildlife.

The colored ones are clearly my favorite. I think mountain becomes creamy bluish because of the haze, I'm not sure if I'm correct, but I think the clouds around them, tends to form some type of haze

(Edited)

Yes because of the haze, heat and moisture.

Amazing black and white photo
But colored photos are still the best, thank you very much my friend for sharing this beautiful picture and have a nice day

The top one in both color and mono, it came out nice. The others have just a bit more haze, and I liked how they came out in the color. Great job on those! So stamps and coins are on the back burner until winter?

I have realized that I have too many unpublished pictures to release yet. Probably a couple hundred. Then I'm off for many adventures this summer/fall, which means hundreds and hundreds more photos. Perhaps I will need to increase the amount of photos per post, but it then boils down to how much time I have. Not enough time in the day.....
