Around the Bow River

DSC08214.jpeg

Last Summer was somewhat smokier than normal in our national parks, but not a good enough reason to stay away! After spending some time in Kananaskis country the previous day, we headed to Banff for a brief walk around the Bow river area. The Bow is also a fabulous place for canoeing or kayaking. As you can see, the photos have some smoke to them. So far this year, the national parks have been virtually smoke free, and hopefully that continues throughout the year. Thanks for stopping by.

To think that this is almost in my back yard shows that I need to travel more as soon as I get my health back in order.

That water is fantastic! Look at that green, it's not dirty, it's plain and simple nature green, all uniform everywhere, as if it was a painting

Great place

This is the place that I want to come here as a dream because I can come here like before because the surrounding is perfect, it's quiet, the river is clean because it looks like paradise and it's still fresh.

The photos are crystal clear and have no haziness at all, which was very surprising to me. Wasn't the smoke because of the mountains that surrounded the water area, how come there wasn't one, this time?

There is a bit of haziness actually. So far, this year there has not been many forest fires in and around the Rockies -- yet. Hopefully it stays that way.

Ohh, I didn't or couldn't spot the haziness. It was always clear as daylight in your previous photos.

Even though you said there was a bit of smoke there, the beauty of the place did not diminish at all. Beautiful and calming of course.

Yes, a bit of smoke doesn't hurt in fact. Thanks.

Fantastic shots! Although the black and white photos look great as well, I prefer the color versions by far, as especially the green water looks absolutely amazing 🤩

Everyone has their preference, but I agree with you on the colour versions. Thanks for looking.
