Around Canadian Rockies

This is the iconic Cascade mountain, as seen from the walking bridge, at maximum zoom and somewhat cropped. Cascade mountain stands tall at 2,998 metres or about 9,800 feet. Try climbing that!

Let's go back to Stewart Canyon for a minute. This is the half frozen Cascade river, as it flows into half frozen Lake Minnewanka. You can see the water colour is slightly turquoise, due to the glacial rock powder effect.

Another pic here of lower Bow falls. I love how the white rapids meet the turquoise-green water. The falls are located close to the Banff Springs hotel.

Looks like some folks are having fun in the ice cold water! I’m sure it was very cold at this time of year. That rock jutting up looks like a tipped over ship’s rutter. Thanks for stopping by.

I have read in textbooks in my school days that mountains are mightier but never got to see them and now I see them how mightier they are. With snowfall it looks even more beautiful.

They are incredibly beautiful. Hopefully someday you can experience this first hand.

First picture is great, mountain in the middle of the 2 pine trees!

That must be even more fun for kids in the last picture, water is low and clean, even if cold, what better?

Fun -- but cold. Mid summer would definitely be a lot warmer!

Nature always has its own way of showing off its beauty. Everything looked beautiful, but Stewart Canyon was the most eye-catching. It looked like a painting.

It sort of does look like a painting, as you say. Thanks for looking.

Beautiful country! In my younger years I would climb taller mountains than that, but not one's that would involve ropes and that one would required ropes. And lots of rock climbing, hard pass from me! Those glacial streams are always gorgeous, that turquoise just makes the water look so inviting. Too bad it's ice cold!

Beautiful shots you added in today, I hope the forecast is looking better for this weekend for you!

Not into ropes and that kind of “crazy” stuff. Have a hard enough time when up high on a narrow trail lol. That is my limit. Thanks as always for dropping by.
