1/2000th
I wanted to get some decent freeze frames of this small cascading fall, which is part of the Marysville Falls ecosystem, here in East Kootenay, British Columbia. I went with a 1/2000th shutter setting, but I suppose it could have been lower. (No professional photographer here) I don’t typically mess around with shutter settings often, but on this day I felt like experimenting a bit. In order to get to 1/2000th, my camera forced me into a high ISO of 4000. Luckily we had a lot of light, and therefore the photos turned out well (and not grainy). What do you think? Thanks for stopping by.
Camera: Sony A7R III
Lens: Sony 24-105mm f4 G OSS
Editing: Lightroom
I used 1/500th on this photo, and ISO 100
Photo captured on auto setting with a shutter speed of 1/125th, and an ISO of 100. Very typical for auto.

Nice
Thanks.
The photos turned out well, expecially the first one!
Yes, I was pleased with the way it turned out. Thanks as usual.
Your experiment is cool bro, the results are good even though the ISO is high.
Can't just use auto setting all the time right!
it all depends on the ammount of availeble light , your minimum apperture number F4 in this case , 1/2000 or even 1/4000 are prefered to actually freeze the motions that are happening in a photo.

Yes, could use a lower aperture, but that means $$.
unless you go for old manual focus lenses with an adaptor
I see.
I wondering what the waterfall noise and the breeze feels like in such an atmosphere. Beautiful place and amazing shots, not grainy at all :)
It was quite serene actually. Lovely place to go for a walk with a significant other.

I love waterfalls. The photos you share with us today are beautiful. Thank you.
Yes, I really love waterfalls as well. Thanks.
With 1/2000 and f/4 it's OK, and in my opinion the ISO could be lower. I have a 50mm f/1.8 and I can easily set the shutter to 1/4000, which is the highest. I usually get multiple shots from one shot, because I change the settings when I look at the photo on the display. I want to shoot a long exposure during the day, but I can't afford to buy an ND filter.
Great Shots as always

That 1.8 brings in a lot of light, I believe mine is an f4. Thanks for your insight!
That really came out nice! The faster shutter speed really did capture the moment more clearly even with the higher ISO. The problem with phones is you don't get nearly the options you would with a regular camera, but they are so much easier to carry around. Those details really came out well, it's always fun to see the falls up close and those shots really did it justice.
That last picture in mono came out really interesting, you would almost think it was much older if it weren't for the clothing in the picture!
Yeah, I have decided to focus more on camera photography vs smartphone photography. Even though it is sooooo easy to snap a photo with the phone.
I think that's cool man. Love the shutter, and love the color photo graphs
Thanks bos.
