The Magical Caves Of The Dragon...

While I was away, I decided to visit the Cuevas Del Drach, but rather than use the rep to go on the trip, I decided to try public transport in another country for the first time, I do fine it a bit daunting, anyhow it took a while to find the bus stop, once we found it, we waited for bus 424, stood around 20 minutes and our bus turned up and drove straight passed, I'm thinking to myself "what the hell happened there?", the I realised, I'd not stuck my hand out to tell the driver I wanted to that bus, so we decided to go the following day as if we had got the later bus, the caves would have been well and truly busy.

If you visit, order book your tickets online as it does work out cheaper, also pay with card on the bus as it's 40% cheaper than paying cash, but for some reason my card wasn't accepted so had to pay cash instead, but it was still cheap enough.

The caves are really magical, the stalactite and stalagmites in the caves are beautiful, there must be thousands of them of all different sizes, and taking millions of years to form, it's breath taking just thinking about it.

The caves are around 1,200 metres long, and lead down around 25 metres, as you go down before the exit, there is a big lake where an orchestra comes out on a boat while you are seated in a natural ampitheatre, the size of the caves are quite impressive.

After the orchestra has finished, you get the choice of going onto the boats to go down the lake, the queues for this are massive, so I decided to walk instead, I think I got the boats the last time I was there, although that was 32 years ago, so I'm not 100 percent certain.

If you are Mallorca, this place is a must visit, you can get more information about the caves by Clicking on this link to the official website.

All shots done using an iPhone 14 Pro.

Thanks for reading,

All the best :-)
