Shooting for the moon...

Last night was a lovely clear night, the moon was out, the stars shining down, and it wasn't too cold.
It's the first night in a few weeks that it has been clear, I really wish it had been like this when I was in the Lake District last week.

Anyhow, I thought I'd do some experimenting with my camera and telescope, and got some great images.

I connected my camera to my Orion Optics Europa telescope, using a 2x Barlow lens, I also had the camera in 35mm mode (making a mental note as I've just been out with the camera and I'd forgot to turn that mode off lol).

Anyhow, I am always blown away by shots of the moon, and I really do like these, as always these aren't half as sharp as I would have liked, but I still find them interesting and love what you can actually see.

I just wish I could get the images sharper, I have learned that there is a way as you take multiple shots and blend them in software, however, it does get a bit tricky with my scope as I don't have a tracker, so everything is done manually.

However, I really hope you like the shots, and the marvel of what is the moon.

When I look at the moon through my 5x barlow and lens, you can see craters within craters, sadly due to the current setup I cannot get this on camera, but the detail is absolutely breathtaking.

Thanks for reading my blog.

All the best :-)

What amazing photos, they really are amazing. My God, I wish I could have photos like this of the moon, with my phone it only looks like a light like the led bulbs hahahaha.

Thanks ever so much, it is awkward getting the moon with the phone, although the telescope does help lol

The first thought that came to mind upon seeing “moon” picture on the cover photo was,

but this is not a moon picture, this is a coconut.
