Saharan Sunrise....

A storm over the Sahara desert a few days ago pushed dust/sand up into the atmosphere which was then carried north in the winds, creating such a fantastic sunrise this morning due to the dust in the air.

January isn't usually brilliant for weather, as you know in the northern hemisphere this is mid-winter, although we've not had much snow in my part of the world as yet.

The colours this morning were so vivid over the on to the horizon, I had to get the camera out even though I'm not one for just taking pictures of the sunrise, this was way too good to miss.

The Kestrel was also back :-)

I really love the reds on the above shot, I did however have my Sigma 150-600mm lens on the camera most of the morning as I didn't want to take just wide shots.

I really couldn't stop photographing the kestrel, although it didn't fly into the perfect spot until I put the camera down lol.

The skies were how you could imagine them to be on Jupiter or something like that.

Such an absolutely beautiful morning, I was expecting to be wearing the sun glasses for the rest of the day, but within about 30 mins this beautiful sky had gone and we had grey clouds colour and detail less clouds for the rest of the day.

I'll try not to post any further sun rises for the forseable future, but this was certainly one not to be missed.

All shots done using a Sony A7iii camera, with a Canon 24-105mm F4.0 L lens & a Sigma 150-600mm Contemporary lens, adapted with the Sigma MC-11 Canon to Sony adaptor.

I really hope you like these pics.

Thanks for reading and all the best :-)

Your shots are amazing. The first one is so mesmerizing. You can see the line between the fading night sky and the sun rising from beneath.

It does look like how the sky could be in another planet, it's almost like it's on fire.
I love these, well done!

Do take more sunrise pictures

Thank you ever so much for your lovely comments, I'll take some more on the next epic one, there was a nice one this morning but not as good as yesterday's spectacle.

These photos of Sunset with yellows and reds are vividly beautiful and then that lone bird just flies across to create a complete outfit.
