My most detailed shot of the moon...
Today has been one of my days off work, so as I’ve not been anywhere, I thought I’d have a look through some old images and have a clear out to get some hard drive space back.
As I was going through the images I came across 3 shots of the moon that looked interestingly sharp, they were all shot at different exposures so i could bracket the shots.
After doing some minor adjustments in Lightroom, I exported the three shots into aurora hdr, then back to Lightroom for further adjustments.
I’m so happy how this turned out, especially with the colours of the moon that’s come out, although there re plenty of moonshots by other people with the mineral moon colours, but I’m more than happy with this one.
While I’m on the subject of the moon, I thought I’d post a few more shots of our nearest cosmic neighbour, with the summer and nights not getting dark while late, there has been some beautiful moon rises over the field behind the house, I couldn’t resist getting the sigma 150-600mm contemporary lens on the camera, 99.9 percent of my moon shots are done with this lens.
The above shot was done at 150mm, I’m usually at the 600mm mark when shooting the moon, although, I loved the colours of the clouds and wanted to get these with the moon in the shot too.
A few miles from where I live is a wind farm, so as the moon rose above it, I couldn’t resist to snag a cheeky shot.
I really hope you’ve enjoyed these shots, the moon is never the same, and always makes a great subject to photograph.
All photographs shot on my Sony a7iii with the sigma 150-600mm contemporary lens, adapted from a canon fit using the sigma mc-11 adaptor.

All the best 😁
