It was like being on the coach at the end of the Italian Job...

While in Mallorca I had a little tour of the island, it was an all day tour where the coach picked us up at 8am and we didn't get back until after 6pm, the tour consisted of the first visit to Lluc Monastery, this was a beautiful place where I tried a couple of local pies and cakes.

I didn't take too many shots as there was quite a few people around, but I do like this one from the Basilica, a beautiful building, we only had an hour there but would have loved to have had a bit longer to explore.

We then headed over to Port De Sa Calobra, we had to go over the mountain pass, the guide told us that this had been widened a few years ago and the road was still narrow. I felt like I was in the film "The Italian Job", the Michael Cain classic from the 60's, gladly it didn't end the same as the film and we reached our destination.

I knew that there was a beach here that I'd heard of and wanted to visit as it was a very unusual place where there is a break in the cliffs where you can access the sea. So we followed the signposts and walked down, you had to walk through some tunnels, and we were warned to keep a look out for pick pockets who pretend to be tourists, thankfully our pockets weren't picked.

We finally made it to the beach, it was very busy, as there were more than one coach load there, it was in a great location with a gorge and river running through behind it, but was a pebble beach, not my favourite stuff to walk on.

The place was great although I couldn't see what the hype was, especially when you see videos on youtube, although it is a unique place and certainly is worth a good explore, especially up the gorge.

(I did a sky replacement on this to make it more dramatic).

We headed back up to the port as we needed to catch a boat to our next location, Soller
.

If you've seen my previous posts, you will know that I didn't take my camera on this holiday, but the next time I go, I wll be taking it lol. All shots done on an iPhone 14pro, and processed in lightroom and Luminar Neo.

I realy hope you like the shots,

Thanks for reading,

All the best :-)

I have a friend who moved to this place a few years ago and she said she would never return to Bucharest. Now I can see why! So much beauty and calmness in the same place!

Greetings from Spain @darrenflinders
on behalf of the @hive-spain team! 👋

Ten hours of touring sure has to be a lot, for an overview of these lands, we're sure it's fine, but you'll definitely have to come back to the Basilica at a slower pace to enjoy it in its full glory.

Looking at it closely, the road does remind of the iconic scene from the movie, a thought not recommended while passing by haha we are glad to know that everyone arrived safely to the cliffs and the beach, which is beautiful, but maybe the hype is more related to the summer when jumpers and water sport lovers get so much out of it. Anyway, the aerial view is more impressive for sure.

The pictures are very nice, you've made good use of your cell phone, but also of the editing tools playing around hahaha that photo with the dramatic sky looked like for a documentary promo.

We hope those cakes in the monastery were up to the standard of our gastronomy, you made us wish we could have seen a picture of them!

Enjoy your stay very much ;)

And if you feel like keep writing about your visit and adding a Spanish translation, you could cross post it on Hive España 🇪🇸 community 😉

Sending you a big hug! 🤗
