Castles In The Sky
I've recently been to Norhumberland on a photography holiday, but sadly due to gale force winds, rain and bad weather, I only had the camera out once and the drone out for five minutes.
However, Northumberland has the most castles than any other county in the England, so when I got to Bamburgh, I just had to take a some shots of this magnificent castle.
I managed to get the drone up for five minutes, although I was a bit restricted on where I could fly it as there had been amber zones put on the beach etc for sites of scientific interest, I think it's down to the time of the year with all the breeding birds etc. When I was there a couple of years ago there wasn't this restriction on, but it was a different time of the year.
Bamburgh Castle has a rich history, originally a Celtic fort then became a castle and the royal household of Bernicia, the castle was raided by the vikings in 993AD.
It is such a spectacular place to visit, even as you drive into the village, and you see the castle towering over it, it's a wonderful site. People still live in the castle to this day too.

As for the photography holiday that I was on, it was great to be away, but the photography part was rather lacking, I did get some pictures and will post on here in future posts, I hope to get back to Northumberland in the not too distant future as I was also wanting to do some milkyway photography because parts of this county are designated dark sky areas.
I really hope you've enjoyed this post, thanks for reading :-)
All the best :-)
