Avengers Assemble.... Wingardium Leviosa!

You maybe wondering what I am talking about with the title of this post, but I found out that both Avengers Endgame and the first two Harry Potter films had parts filmed at Durham Cathedral. I can see why they chose this place as it's certainly one of the finest buildings I have ever stepped foot in.

It's absolutely stunning inside, although I do wish I could get on those walkways that are restricted to the public.

I love it up here as you can probably tell, especially as night falls and the Cathedral gets lit up.

Here's a few more shots from inside the Chathedral, these however were shot using my phone.

Above is Prior Castell's clock, this was installed between 1494 - 1519 and is the only wooden object in the Cathedral known to have survived the English civil war.
The story goes that the Scottish prisoners held in the Cathedral burned anything wooden to keep warm, and the clock was spared due to it have a the thistle on there which is an emblem of Scotland, the prisoners respected thistle too much to burn the clock.

The corridors featured on both Harry Potter and Avengers Endgame, sadly they have supports up on each corner, although it must be expected due to the age of the building and timbers.

If you are in the region of Durham, I highly recommend a visit, and make the Cathedral the first place you go, thankfully in the middle of January it's fairly quiet around the Cathedral, but it does get busy in the summer months.
