A Unexpected Explore...
After our visit to Cuevas Del Drach, we had a bit of time and decided to have a walk into Porto Cristo, a place I had been to before, but was only a flying visit, so it was lovely to have a little explore around the town.
(A building that has always intriqued me, even from the first time I saw it 32 years ago, this is on the harbour to Porto Cristo).
As we walked from the caves we headed down some steps to the harbour, I didn't take too many photos around there due to fencing being in the way, but I have to say, there were millions of pounds worth of yachts there, and some of them were massive, I think these fell in the super yacht category, oh how the other half live!
(Looking out of Porto Cristo's natural harbour).
As we were walking along the main part of town, there were the usual shops and restaurants, but I had spied a cool church that I wanted to walk up to and have a look at it, I do love to see an old church.
The hill up to the church made it look even more special....
I know it's not an award winning shot, but I did have to do a fair bit of photoshop work on this, as the hill had wires criss-crossing the street with street lights on it etc, it really did spoil the image, but I do like this one now, this is the sort of image I had in mind when I took the shot.
When we got to the church, we sat on a bench on the grounds, it was lovely and peaceful, we got out phones out to try and work out where to get the bus to where we were staying, we followed a map and it basically took us down some narrow roads, I said "I doubt that the bus will come down here" as the roads were way too narrow, I said "we'd be best heading back to where we got off", so we did just that and thankfully there was a bus waiting.
I've since learned that the bus doesn't run into the centre now, so a wise decision made there.
(Església de la Mare de Déu del Carme de Portocristo).
The bus drivers in Mallorca are very skilled, I used to drive busses myself and I wouldn't have liked to have gone through the streets that these guys do, especially the way people park their cars, they do make it awkward for large vehicles, but these are great drivers.
I really hope you have enjoyed this post and if you've made it this far, thanks for reading.
I also hope you have liked my shots, all done using an iPhone 14 pro, processed in lightroom, photoshop and some also processed in Luminar Neo.
All the best :-)
