A Trip To The Seaside For My 48th Birthday.

How the hell did I get to 48?
It doesn't seem that long ago I was 20, mentally I still feel the same, physically however, that's a different story.

I've not been very well since Saturday, I've got some sort of cold/flu bug, which has since got onto my chest and I've lost my voice, my girlfriend had booked Sunday off work for my birthday as we were planning on going somewhere, the weather forecast was wrong too, as we were expecting rain and snow, but it stayed sunny.

We headed to Cleethorpes, as it is only an hours drive from home, and with me not feeling too good, didn't want to venture too far, we had a steady walk all the way down to the top end of the promenade where once stood a big indoor market.
These days, the market has reduced to about 5 or 6 stalls, you know the kind, where they play country and western music really loud and looks a bit of dump, it would have been outdated as a style of market back in the 80's, not sure if it's a coastal thing, but only ever seen this kind of market at the coast.

(Looking up the estuary towards Grimsby docks)

The tide was on it's way out when we got there, as we got to the top we had a great view over to the docks at Grimsby, I would have loved to have taken the drone up for some shots, but I didn't take that either lol.
Grimsby was once the home of the largest fishing fleet in the UK, but since joining the common market, this reduced in size to only a few boats.

We headed back up towards the pier and decided to pop on there for our dinners, I didn't take a picture of the dinner, but to say that this was the best fish and chips I've ever eaten would be an understatement, and the curry sauce they serve there is divine.

After dinner, we decided to head back, I started to feel a bit ill as I think my tablets were wearing off.

All the shots were done using my Samsung S21 5G, and to be honest, I am pretty impressed with some of the results, I was never happy with my iPhone XR, but this one sure makes up for it. It won't replace my DSLR, but I know at least I can get a decentish shot if I'm ever out without my camera.

I really hope you've enjoyed this post, a great new adventure should be coming up at the end of the month, but for now, thanks for reading.

All the best :-)
