5 Torres of Madrid in black and white - MONOMAD

I have been looking at some posts in this community. It's been a while since I've posted. It always delights me to look at black and white photographs, as they have a special appeal. I'm not sure if it happens to everyone, or there are people who couldn't appreciate photos that don't have color. The truth is that they also make me nostalgic, since the only time I studied photography, it was 100% in black and white. Analog cameras, developed and copied by myself in the high school workshop.

Photography used to be experienced differently. The shots were limited, so you had to think well the framing and not like now that we can take hundreds of photos, even with the phone. Perhaps the saturation of images has made us less sensitive, but at the same time fascinated by the traditional black and white photos.

That's why I wanted to convert some shots from my last trip to Madrid, specifically to the “5 Torres”, where the planes, contrasts with light and shadow and also with geometries; are perfect for this task. Although I have to confess that at that moment I thought in color and in fact I published several posts of the photos in color. Maybe from now on I will take one in color and another black and white version. I hope you enjoy it.

He estado viendo algunas publicaciones en esta comunidad. Hace tiempo que no publicaba. Siempre me deleita contemplar fotografías en blanco y negro, pues tienen un atractivo especial. No estoy seguro si a todos les pasa, o hay personas que no podrían apreciar fotos que no tengan color. Lo cierto es que también me dan nostalgia, ya que en el único momento que estudié fotografía, fue 100% en blanco y negro. Cámaras analógicas, revelado y copiado por mí mismo en el taller del instituto.

Antes la fotografía se vivía diferente. Las tomas eran limitadas, por lo que tenías que pensar bien el encuadre y no como ahora que podemos tomar cientos de fotos, incluso con el teléfono. Quizás la saturación de imágenes nos ha hecho menos sensible, pero a la vez fascinarnos por las tradicionales fotos en blanco y negro.

Es por esto que quise convertir algunas tomas de mi último viaje a Madrid, específicamente a las "5 Torres", donde los planos, contrastes con luces y sombras y también con geometrías; son perfectas para este cometido. Aunque tengo que confesar que en ese momento pensé en color y de hecho publiqué varios post de las fotos a color. Quizás de ahora en adelante tome una a color y otra versión en blanco y negro. Espero la disfrutes.
