Word play

Word play based on my ideology can be seen as the act of adding words together that sounds alike.they may be thesame spellings,but always have different meanings.

In movies like The rush hour word play was used between a black american and a kung fu teacher,some uses it to create content while some use it in their day-to-day conversation.
The most important thing about word play is that it should have rhyming sounds e.g My friend took alot of beer i can't bear this any longer,his walking with bare foot.Now looking at the word in bold words beer, bear,bare they are homophones,they have thesame pronunciation but different meanings and spelling.

In my home country, Nigeria,Word play is used frequently mostly in pidgin.i made an analogy about this to my friend.he bought a fake product openup instead of closeup.We were having when i notice he had a mouth odour i politely told him.

he said he bought openup instead of closeup i immediately made a word play."you asked for closeup and they gave you openup?,if you don't have money to buy close-up then you closeup your mouth.
