Santiago de Compostela, an extraordinary city

We cannot go to Galicia without visiting the city of Santiago de Compostela, final point of pilgrims who annually walk from different parts of the world to go to the tomb of the Apostle Santiago el Mayor, located in the Cathedral of this saint.
It is a city where one breathes an indescribable peace and where the locals, accustomed to the visit of foreigners have a pleasant treatment to visitors.
The ancient city of Santiago is a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1985 and is one of the three major pilgrimage centers of Christianity, along with Jerusalem and Rome.
Although I went there on business I was able to take time to load my camera storage with photos and I leave here some of them.
The first two are of the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela, the final destination of the pilgrims.
This is the Plaza Quinta de Vivo
This is the historic center of Santiago de Compostela, Plaza las Platería and the Cabildo's house.
This is the Plaza de la Inmaculada or Azabacheria, which together with the Platerías, Obradoiro and Quintana, is one of the four spaces surrounding the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela.
Crossing Azabachería Street, pilgrims who have completed the French or English Way reach the square.

This is the Convent of San Francisco do Val de Deus.

This is the Pensión Residencia San Nicolás, restored in 1996. It is located in the historic center of Santiago de Compostela, at the foot of the Via Jacobea.
