Nordic visual treasures - God of War's free 20th anniversary wallpapers
This year that is coming to an end has undoubtedly been fantastic, giving us some great games of all kinds. Indies are gaining more and more traction, and AAA titles continue to amaze us. One of the games that blew many people away was God of War, a saga that is here to stay in our memories for a long time—a game that evolved from just another hack and slash to an incredible action RPG. It celebrated its twentieth anniversary just a few months ago, and as part of the celebration, the folks at Santa Monica Studio shared some incredible free images with the community that I want to show you today.

After the remaster of the third game in the saga in 2015, I didn't think this game could offer anything cooler, but thanks to the generational leap for consoles and PC, we received a masterpiece in 2018. It was a different game than we were used to, featuring a more serious Kratos who now has a family. This story continues into 2022 with Ragnarok, featuring considerable graphic improvements and a challenging and addictive gameplay loop.

I was lucky enough to start Ragnarok in late 2023 during the December holidays, and it was great to spend some free time playing this marvelous game. In it, we can find the most beautiful and epic settings related to Norse culture, loaded with fantasy and epic moments. That's why this gift from Santa Monica Studio this year to celebrate the saga's 20th anniversary was special for many. These are images meant to be used as PC wallpapers, like the ones you've been seeing so far.

They didn't just publish images for PC; they also included a series of images for phones that can be used as wallpapers, along with banners for Discord, Facebook, and Twitter. The images feature Kratos in epic stances, wielding the Blades of Chaos, the Leviathan Axe, the new weapon—the Draupnir Spear—and the well-known Guardian Shield.

Images of Freya are also included—the goddess of love, fertility, beauty, war, sex, and magic—an important character in the game's story and, of course, in Norse mythology. Images of Atreus, Kratos' son, also known as Loki, are included as well. I hope you like these images. Feel free to take them to use as wallpapers. However, I will be leaving the link at the end so you can download them from the PlayStation.com site.

Wow, the appearances you have Kratos in the game are amazing, I love that you add these things to the games, it makes you live a totally different experience
Yeah Kratos' appearance in this game is pretty cool, especially when you get armor that looks even more amazing
I once saw that you could change the appearance of your character on the ps 2, but I never imagined they would continue to do so, I have not played all their deliveries, but if I have played some where they allowed you to do it, and see what in this delivery they do is great, thanks for sharing

Rather than changing his appearance, it's about equipping him with armor that makes him stronger. These photos are for the 20th anniversary, giving Kratos the appearance from the first games.
