Les presento mi lugar feliz en la isla [Esp/Eng]

Hola a todos, espero que estén bien. Les traigo mi participación a la iniciativa de mi lugar favorito en Margarita, gracias @santiago121 por invitarme.

Hello everyone, I hope you're doing well. I'm sharing my contribution to the initiative about my favorite place in Margarita, thank you @santiago121 for inviting me.

Hace un par de meses, de un día para otro, comencé con un dolor de cabeza muy fuerte. Todo aquél que le ha dado este dolor sabe lo fastidioso que es, no te deja tranquilo, no te deja pensar bien y es horrible. Lamentablemente, cuando estoy estresada en la universidad o por cualquier cosa, así como cuando no como bien o no duermo bien, estos dolores de cabeza llegan a mí fácilmente, así que esa vez creí que era por alguna de esas razones.

A couple of months ago, out of nowhere, I started experiencing a really intense headache. Anyone who's had this kind of pain knows how annoying it is, it won’t let you rest, it clouds your thoughts, and it’s just awful. Sadly, when I’m stressed at university or for any reason, or when I don’t eat or sleep well, these headaches come to me easily. So that time, I thought it was one of those usual causes.

Pero estaba equivocada, pues los dolores no se quitaban ni con pastillas para el dolor normales, y el dolor poco a poco también fue comenzando en el lado derecho de mi cara, específicamente mis muelas de juicio. Era muy difícil hablar, comer y lidiar con ese cachete hinchado. Así que fui al doctor y me mandó a tomar algunos medicamentos como relajante muscular y antibióticos para luego sacarme las muelas.

But I was wrong, the pain didn’t go away, not even with regular painkillers. Slowly, it started spreading to the right side of my face, especially around my wisdom teeth. It became really hard to talk, eat, and deal with that swollen cheek. So I went to the doctor, and he prescribed muscle relaxants and antibiotics to prepare for removing the teeth.

Este tratamiento me ayudó con el malestar que tenía, sin embargo a raíz de ahí me quedó otro problema. Mi estómago se volvió muy delicado por la mala alimentación que llevé esos días, ligado con esos medicamentos tan fuertes y que no tomé un protector gástrico.

That treatment helped relieve the discomfort, but it left me with another issue. My stomach became very sensitive due to the poor diet I had during those days, combined with the strong medications and the fact that I didn’t take a gastric protector.

Así que desde entonces, trato de mantener una buena alimentación en la medida de lo posible, evitando alimentos procesados, frituras y azúcar, para así evitar sentir la inflamación en el estómago. Y de esta manera, poco a poco he sentido cambios positivos en mi cuerpo.

So since then, I’ve been trying to maintain a healthy diet as much as possible, avoiding processed foods, fried items, and sugar, to prevent stomach inflammation. And little by little, I’ve started to feel positive changes in my body.

Al principio no podía comer absolutamente nada de comida que no fuera hecha en mi casa, pero cada día como he mejorado con buena alimentación, de vez en cuando que me quería dar un gustico en la calle, sentía que no valía la pena, por el miedo de que me cayera mal o que no fuera tan rico como esperaba. Además, el no saber cómo se preparan las cosas es algo que hacía que tampoco me provocara comer nada en la calle.

At first, I couldn’t eat anything that wasn’t homemade. But as my diet improved, every time I wanted to treat myself to something outside, I felt it wasn’t worth the risk, either because it might upset my stomach or it wouldn’t taste as good as I hoped. Also, not knowing how the food is prepared made me hesitant to eat out.

Ya me sentía triste de no poder pasar un rato diferente fuera de casa comiendo algo rico como antes. Hasta que encontré mi salvación para comer delicioso y a la vez algo que no me cayera mal. Mr. Sub. Mi novio y yo ahora somos fans de ir a comer ahí, especialmente la sucursal de Playa El Ángel, ya que se siente acogedora y la atención es muy buena, además, no sé qué hacen ahí que siento que los sándwiches saben distintos.

I was starting to feel sad about not being able to enjoy a nice meal out like I used to. Until I found my saving grace, Mr. Sub. My boyfriend and I have become fans of eating there, especially at the Playa El Ángel location. It feels cozy, the service is great, and honestly, I don’t know what they do differently, but the sandwiches taste special..

La verdad al principio sentía un poco de miedo que al igual que las otras comidas de la calle, la de ahí me cayera mal, pero no fue así. Puedo comerme mi sándwich tranquilamente de vez en cuando sin miedo a que luego me sienta inflamada o con malestar. Ya se ha convertido en mi lugar seguro si quiero comer algo fuera de casa sin la culpa de que después voy a estar sintiéndome mal.

Honestly, at first I was a bit afraid that, like other street food, the food there might upset my stomach, but it didn’t. I can enjoy my sandwich peacefully from time to time without worrying about inflammation or discomfort afterward. It’s become my safe spot whenever I want to eat out without the guilt of feeling bad later.

Otra cosa que me gusta de este lugar, es la tranquilidad que se siente. No soy muy amante de los lugares donde hay demasiada gente, que siempre están full, prefiero estar siempre en lugares tranquilos sin mucho ruido, y así es en Mr. Sub. Cada vez que vamos sabemos que pasaremos un buen rato y comeremos rico.

Another thing I love about this place is the calm atmosphere. I’m not a fan of crowded places that are always packed, I prefer quiet spots without too much noise, and that’s exactly how Mr. Sub feels. Every time we go, we know we’ll have a pleasant time and enjoy a delicious meal.

Ya hasta tengo mi sándwich perfecto que siempre pido, es de pan de orégano con parmesano, relleno de pollo, queso mozzarella, vegetales como pimentón, alfalfa, tomate, maíz y aguacate, con un toque de ranch. Y las galletas que hacen ahí son mis favoritas, cuando las calientan el chocolate se derrite y sabe super rico. Mi novio también pide el mismo sándwich, con la diferencia que a él le gustan los champiñones y a mí no, o también de vez en cuando, él pide ensaladas que también preparan a tu gusto.

I even have my perfect sandwich that I always order oregano-parmesan bread filled with chicken, mozzarella cheese, veggies like bell pepper, alfalfa, tomato, corn, and avocado, with a touch of ranch. And the cookies they make there are my favorite, when they warm them up, the chocolate melts and tastes amazing. My boyfriend orders the same sandwich, except he likes mushrooms and I don’t. Sometimes he goes for the salads too, which they prepare just the way you like.

Y eso es un detalle que hace que sea mi lugar favorito, como lo decía en la pared, "nuestros ingredientes, tu obra de arte...", porque cada quien va viendo cómo preparan su sándwich a su gusto o a su manera, viendo todo el proceso, preparando un sándwich único.

That’s one detail that makes it my favorite place. As the wall says, “our ingredients, your masterpiece…”, because everyone gets to see how their sandwich is made, just the way they like it, watching the whole process and creating something unique.

Aunque no solo son sándwiches y ensaladas, también preparan pizzas individuales, que este fin de semana para variar las probé y muy ricas estaban. Las recomiendo, y además que el combo traía dos barquillas de mantecado. Porque en este lugar también se encuentra Nicecream, así que también venden ricos helados.

And it’s not just sandwiches and salads, they also make individual pizzas, which I tried this weekend for a change, and they were really tasty. I totally recommend them. Plus, the combo came with two cones of vanilla ice cream. Because this place also has Nicecream, so they sell delicious ice cream too.

Quiero comentarles que tienen tarjeta de fidelidad o también llamada Mr. Sub Club, donde acumulando 8 sellos te puedes llevar 1 sándwich gratis. Cada sello se acumula comprando un sándwich. Nosotros fuimos acumulando ambos a la vez, y así obtuvimos nuestros sándwiches juntos ❤️

I want to share that they have a loyalty card, also known as the Mr. Sub Club. By collecting 8 stamps, you can get one sandwich for free. You earn a stamp with each sandwich you buy. We were collecting stamps together, and that’s how we got our free sandwiches at the same time ❤️

Me alegra compartirles esta historia del motivo por el cual mi lugar favorito es Mr. Sub, se ha ganado este lugar para mí por ser ese lugar que siempre puedo visitar sin dudar si me va a gustar o no, porque sé que ahí puedo comer tranquilamente. I’m happy to share this story about why Mr. Sub is my favorite place. It’s earned that spot because it’s somewhere I can always visit without wondering if I’ll enjoy it or not, I know I’ll eat peacefully there. Thanks for reading my post.
