Ya saben que me divierte mucho dibujar paisajes y tenía un tiempo sin hacer uno montañoso, así que saqué mis colores y block de dibujo y puse manos a la obra. En esta ocasión quise que las montañas fueran las protagonistas, pero no de un color verde como estamos acostumbrados sino azules, combinando con el cielo. Las nubes también fueron un punto importante en este dibujo porque las hice de una forma diferente. Acompañenme en este paso a paso.

You already know how much I enjoy drawing landscapes, and it had been a while since I made a mountainous one. So I grabbed my colors and sketchpad and got to work. This time, I wanted the mountains to be the main characters, not in the usual green, but in shades of blue that blend with the sky. The clouds were also a key element in this drawing, as I shaped them in a different way. Join me in this step-by-step process.

Charcoal pencil

Fine-tip black marker

1️⃣Lo primero que debemos hacer es el boceto del dibujo utilizando nuestro lápiz de carbón. Para eso trazamos una línea curva horizontal que será la guía del mar. Arriba de esa línea dibujamos las montañas que abarcan casi toda la mitad superior de la hoja, dejando el lado izquierdo libre donde dibujaremos unos arbustos donde irán pinos.

1️⃣First, we sketch the drawing using our charcoal pencil. We draw a curved horizontal line to guide the sea. Above that line, we sketch the mountains, which take up almost the entire upper half of the page, leaving the left side free to draw some bushes where pine trees will go.

2️⃣Luego con colores marrones, vamos a ir marcando los troncos de los pinos, así como los troncos de los árboles en la base de las montañas.

2️⃣Next, using brown tones, we mark the trunks of the pine trees, as well as the trunks of the trees at the base of the mountains.

3️⃣Con tonos verdes y amarillos seguimos dando color a los árboles en el inicio de las montañas y a los pinos de la derecha.

3️⃣With green and yellow tones, we continue coloring the trees at the foot of the mountains and the pine trees on the right.

4️⃣Es hora de usar colores azules para el mar. Primero azul claro por el borde inferior y dando un efecto degradado añadiremos verde, para que se vea como si las plantas de están reflejando en el agua.

4️⃣Now it's time to use blue tones for the sea. Start with light blue along the bottom edge, and then add green in a gradient effect to make it look like the plants are reflecting in the water.

5️⃣Las montañas se colorean con distintos tonos de color azul, desde el más claro al más oscuro, además pequeños toques de morado en donde haya sombras.

5️⃣The mountains are colored with various shades of blue, from light to dark, plus small touches of purple where shadows appear.

6️⃣Por último, el toque de las nubes me pareció muy bonito. Con un color azul claro marqué las formas por todo el cielo y luego el fondo también azul claro.

6️⃣Finally, I really liked the touch of the clouds. I outlined their shapes across the sky using light blue, and then filled the background with the same light blue tone.

✅️Y así fue cómo quedó el dibujo. Definitivamente la combinación de colores entre azul y verde me parece que quedó muy bien. Un dibujo que me tomó alrededor de dos horas terminar pero cuando uno pasa un rato relajante, experimentando con los colores y dejando volar la creatividad, se siente como si los minutos pasaran volando.

✅️And that’s how the drawing turned out. I think the combination of blue and green worked beautifully. It took me about two hours to finish, but when you spend a relaxing moment experimenting with colors and letting your creativity flow, it feels like time just flies.

Otra parte que me pareció diferente de este dibujo fue el reflejo de los árboles en el mar, algo que no había intentado y que quisiera experimentar en otras creaciones próximamente.

Another part that felt different in this drawing was the reflection of the trees in the sea, something I hadn’t tried before and would love to explore in future creations.
