Butterflies that speak in colors and textures [Esp/Eng]

Hola, comunidad Photography Lovers. Este es mi primer post en esta comunidad y quiero compartir por acá una colección de mariposas. Si bien no soy una fotógrafa profesional, disfruto tomarle fotos al arte en diferentes presentaciones y lugares. Así quedan capturados para poder observarse en cualquier momento, ya sean cosas simples o extravagantes.

Hello, Photography Lovers community. This is my first post in this group, and I’d love to share a butterfly collection with you. While I’m not a professional photographer, I truly enjoy capturing art in its different forms and settings. That way, those moments stay preserved and can be appreciated anytime, whether the subject is something simple or something extravagant.

En esta ocasión traigo unas fotos que tomé hace un tiempo en un centro comercial llamado Parque Costazul, en el estado Nueva Esparta. Suele estar un poco vacío y solitario, salvo en ocasiones especiales cuando se realiza algún evento. Pero ese día en específico no había mucha gente y durante el recorrido por uno de sus amplios pasillos, pude observar cómo unas figuras grandes y coloridas llamaban la atención. Se trataba de mariposas con diferentes estampados cada una.

This time, I’m sharing some photos I took a while ago at a shopping center called Parque Costazul, located in Nueva Esparta State. It tends to be a bit quiet and empty, except for special occasions when events are held. But on that particular day, there weren’t many people, and during my stroll through one of its wide hallways, I noticed some large, colorful figures that drew attention, they were butterflies, each with a unique pattern.

En esta se pueden notar en las alas lo que parecen peces, uno detrás de otro, de distintos colores y texturas... o bueno, eso es lo que yo veo. También podrían ser lunares de la mariposa, pero yo los interpreto como ojos de cada pez. Me gusta que cada uno tiene un diseño distinto y que el centro de la mariposa tiene una especie de raíces hacia cada lado, lo que me parece como dos peces de fondo blanco, grandes y especiales, observando cada uno en una dirección diferente.

In this one, you can notice what seem to be fish on the wings, lined up, in different colors and textures... well, that’s how I see it. They could also be the butterfly's spots, but I interpret them as the eyes of each fish. I love that each figure has a distinct design and that the butterfly's center shows what seems like roots reaching out to either side, which I imagine as two large, pale fish gazing in opposite directions.

Esta, por su parte, es más minimalista, sin muchos detalles que notar. Pero eso hace que resalte simplemente el color azul de las alas, lo que para mí representa lo profundo del mar, y esos pequeños detalles naranjas como olas en movimiento que reflejan el color anaranjado del amanecer.

This one, on the other hand, is more minimalist, without too many details to notice. But that makes the blue of the wings stand out even more. To me, it represents the depth of the sea, and those tiny orange touches look like moving waves reflecting the soft hues of a sunrise.

Esta tiene un diseño tropical, fresco, que me recuerda al Caribe y a las playas. Creo que es por las flores dibujadas y los colores vibrantes. Además, la sonrisa de la señora pintada en las alas da aún más ese toque de alegría y movimiento a la figura. Es como si ambas mujeres estuvieran hablando entre las ramas de los árboles, contándose algo que les causa mucha risa y diversión.

This one has a tropical, breezy design that reminds me of the Caribbean and its beaches, probably because of the drawn flowers and vibrant colors. Plus, the smile on the woman painted on the wings adds even more cheerfulness and movement to the figure. It’s as if both women were chatting among tree branches, laughing and enjoying themselves.

Esta no tiene muchos relieves ni sombras, son más figuras geométricas conectadas entre sí, con colores cálidos como amarillo y rojo en la parte superior.

This butterfly doesn’t feature much shading or texture. It’s mostly made up of geometric shapes connected to each other, with warm tones like yellow and red along the top.

Esta mariposa, por su parte, tiene lo que me parecen ojos en diferentes lugares y de distintos colores y formas, como si te estuviera mirando desde todos los ángulos y direcciones. El fondo de las alas da la sensación de movimiento, como si los ojos estuvieran cambiando de lugar.

This butterfly, meanwhile, looks like it has eyes scattered across different places, in various colors and shapes, almost as if it were watching you from every angle and direction. The background of the wings gives the impression of motion, as if the eyes were shifting positions.

Y bueno, dejé para el final la que puedo considerar mi favorita. Aunque todas tienen su toque diferente y resaltante, opino que esta tiene muchísimos detalles hermosos. Por ejemplo, las dobles alas que la hacen ver más poderosa, sus antenas curvas y rectas que dan un aire de fortaleza, y lo mejor, su estampado abstracto, que me parece un conjunto de barcos con velas alzadas, avanzando en equipo.

And well, I saved what I consider my favorite for last. Though each butterfly has its own unique and standout features, I think this one is full of beautiful details, for example, the double wings that make it look powerful, its curved and straight antennae that give off a sense of strength, and best of all, its abstract pattern, which I interpret as a group of sailboats raised together, moving in harmony.
