Something To Read And Look At

I wanted to say something but didn't know what words to use.

It's times like this I wonder why out of everywhere I could be right now, I'm where they're expected.

Sometimes I'll throw a bunch in a hat, ~words, and then retrieve one at a time and stick it to the fridge like a magnet until something makes sense.

It's easier to write what I'm not saying

(Said the fridge)

Takes forever though. I had to write and tear out, crumble up and toss in a hat, one Iron Maiden song title for that sentence and not everyone in attendance knows who in the world they are.

That's disturbing.

As you can see they're not getting us anywhere, words.

What you're about to experience now are called memories. I save them on my device sometimes, ~memories. What I do is, point it at things and click a button. Below are some examples while I figure out what to say.

IMG_5513.jpeg

It's a tree.

Or, a bush.

A tree or bush with flowers on it, they’re white. I know a body of water when I see one and that's either a river or a lake for sure. Other than that and some limestone scattered along the shoreline, I got nothin. Next!

Walking trail—yata yata. Seen one, seen'em all. It's made of wood, woopty-do. It's on the side of a cliff with a rushing river below and a snow capped mountain ahead.

Booorring.

They're famous in San Francisco.

16th Avenue Tiled Steps, they're called. They're made for stepping and they're tiled and they're on 16th Ave, not much for originality. Some match the flowers in the garden and some don't. Two trees up top are having a Trump hair day, big deal.

Sunsets.

Or not, whatever. What goes up must come down or everything's in the dark all the time and something else about sunblock, I got nothin.

IMG_6377.jpeg

IMG_6376.png

IMG_6375.jpeg

What else? Looks like we got some as seen on TV stuff like Budapest and Paris, the shit they feed their kids in The South and what the

IS THAT A FUCKING CINDER BLOCK
⁉️

IMG_6386.jpeg

It IS!

I've seen that photo I don't know many times and not once did I see it.

I couldn't get any closer to the duck than that. As dark as the little thing is, you'd think it’d camouflage better in the water but you’d be wrong, it doesn't. But a pour in place, concrete base, multi-purpose-use moth-erfuck-in cinder block?!

IMG_6387.jpeg

I almost missed it.

I'm good hey, just hustling hard! Finding it difficult to carve out some time to write some decent posts. Lots of intentions but never happening and also lots of random pieces of writing. I should string them all together hey lol.

Does your notepad look like mine? Mine's loaded up with opening sentences. Some are long enough to make a paragraph but are sitting on idle following the first period.

A couple weeks ago I had surgery on my arm. Hospital waiting room, 7am, myself and certainly a handful of other patients are fasting, waiting to be called back and have our procedure done.

Three, 1, 2, 3. That's how many massive ass gigantic asses who can't fit in a normal waiting room chair and who've never met, each sitting in various parts of the hospital waiting room shoving Chic-Fil-A in their disrespectful face at 7 in the morning, fingers dripping lard, so the whole joint wreaks of salt and processed grease.

I was fasting.

I'm not bitter at all, can you tell?

psssh yoou don't sound bitter in the least amount! I mean, who would be? Grease! Who needs that lard? ESpecially if it's attached to someone's ass!

Fasting does thing to ppl though. lots of things we cant explain.

how is the arm?

Long way to go unfortunately. I've had zero use of my right hand, the dominant one, since the beginning of February.

Never a bad time for Mimi. Hey, you're not dating Andy now, are you, and shit canned Mike?

Kidding. I was just updated on some drama back home the other day. Her name's Mimi.

Did you snap any pictures?

I need to make some adjustments, that's what. Apparently if I lift something that's questionably too heavy anymore, I won't just feel strain in muscles and joints, there's potential to shred a nerve that runs from the elbow to the hand that's responsible for controlling the muscle that functions both your index and thumb.

My dominant.

Been this way since Feb. If this wasn't public, I'd tell you how out of all my surgeries and the parts of me that are already broken, this loss of my right hand is the most terrifying.

0

Lol I'm still dating Herbie. I married him remember. I feel like Im stuck with him. But. I love him man, so his stuck with me too! Now you caught up with my love too! !LOLZ

Not much pics, I suck at that. Mostly take them with my eyes! I mostly have pics of my kid these days. Man that so lame. But she is tooo cute!

Dude I'm sorry about the arm. What brought on the lack of feeling though? Is it an arthritis thing? My dad's was so bad he had a high pain threshold. Broke his ankle once and hardly felt the pain! What is the recovery plan and how much feeling can you get back?

I hope you heal up fast! Look after yourself man. You only have one body!

!HUG
!LUV

The lack of control is due to that nerve. I'm told they're like elastic and need to repair themselves. They filleted my arm and manually massaged that nerve by separating it from muscles and tendons and stuff in an effort to speed up the nerves natural recovery.

No arthritis or anything, just lifting tree stumps that were too heavy, shocked that nerve and now it doesn't work.

I'm told I should see some sort of movement in my finger and thumb some time between now and October 1. And I'm told I won't gain full control and strength of my hand until 'about winter, next year.'

This looks very eina! But I'm hoping scars will make your arm look more bad ass than the tats. Sucks to go through this. But just take it easy man. Heal up fast! Maybe it's life way to tell you slow down a bit!

How are you even typing? with your lefty? Taking it real slow hey?

0

avatar

Thanks for being nice Mimi. It's all I can tell myself these days; for whatever reason, not having my hand right now is what's necessary.

Kinda embarrassing really, don't tell anyone I told you. = } I'm using a text to talk app. But it doesn't always use proper grammar, about 50% of the time probably. So, I text to talk, then edit with my left hand. Mhm.

Lame.

0
0
0.000
avatar

hahhahaha its not that lame, its actually pretty innovative! Something to keep you going! Better than bugging Pura to type for you and getting annoyed. This way is safer. Less risky. Prolong the destruction of your other arm!

Also things could be worse, this could be you:

I would stick to innovation! I sometimes think it would be easier to create content like this. Maybe i should give it a go!

As to the great maker, hmmm. Over can only find out by meeting them in person!

0

If you are, there's definitely cats, electric guitars, and bamboo in the blend.

Over can only find out by meeting them in person!

I tried that, all I found was an abyss full of abominable creatures.

0

Oh noes! Why do they always cluster in abysses? Bloody abysmal creatures!

I do love my guitars bamboo and cats! :OD

0

I think it's possibly because we all unknowingly live in the abyss. Then there's that thing about Dante's nine (yikes) levels of hell which I have avoided reading in it's entirety.

I do love my guitars bamboo and cats! :OD

I can't look at bamboo growing here without thinking of your bamboo trees. Did you have any luck with getting that black beauty one started from seed?

0
0
0.000
avatar

I didn't. I couldn't get a single seed to sprout. Bastard thing. I replaced it with two different types of golden bamboo. I hope it learns from this! 🙂

If we all live unknowingly in the abyss then when we look into the abyss we are truly only seeing ourselves look back at us... Yeek!

0
0
0.000
avatar

Oh that's horrible! I really loved the black bamboo. Still have never seen it anywhere except in your garden.

I hope it learns from this! 🙂

You gave it a good Scottish smack down I bet.

If we all live unknowingly in the abyss then when we look into the abyss we are truly only seeing ourselves look back at us... Yeek!

Yes. Disturbing as fug isn't it.

0
0
0.000
avatar

I do have another black bamboo which is quite young (hopefully). It is not one I grew and seems to be struggling to become big and awesome. I will give it time though. Just as long as it doesn't flower before it's a beast!!

It is very disturbing!!

0
0
0.000
avatar

So it's not the species that goes to seed that fast? A different black one? I ought to do a little reading on bamboo species. I find I'm drawn to the black one. It's like black or dark purple tomatoes. Seems like they ought not to be that colour, yet they are and beautifully so.

Just as long as it doesn't flower before it's a beast!!

Banish that thought to the 9th level of the abyss.

0
0
0.000
avatar

It's the same species but when the seeds grow into adult bamboos they all flower and for at the same time no matter where they are. Fortunately my second one is a different family as it were.

The 9th circle it is!!

0
0
0.000
avatar

Oh what a thing. They flower, all at once, seed, then die. Cycle of life. Maybe this second one you have won't do that so quickly. A wait and see game.

The 9th circle it is!!

You're doing it again, being all sweet and stuff.

Hello, littlebee. Thanks for coming over again. I knew I'd catch some Europeans attention (London, well, used to be.. you know...) with that one.

Are you still by yourself?

0

avatar

Of course… for you always 😊👋🏻

Hello you, how are you both and Atlas?
Happy to read your posts.
Hahaha never lived in London lol but European yep… I’m here. 🤙🏻

Guess what… change of plans… as.. “why not?” …. I flew ✈️✈️✈️ today to the UK to join hubby until he can move mid July.
This way I can visit some friends and finalise some paperwork here and close that UK chapter.
We drive (and import the car) over with a short ferry the 11th, to Ireland 😎

0

avatar

Man, that's cool. Where did you fly into, what part of the UK are in right now? Don't worry, I'm not a stalker. Neat, we spent enough time there I can almost see your path.

Did he get you at the airport or did you hop on a train, Uber? I so miss not needing a car. Can't live without personal transportation in the US, won't work.

Will you ferry out of Wales into Ireland? I don't remember if one leaves Liverpool. You got like, what, two weeks?

Fun. And the weather probably isn't totally shitty right now. Meh.. it probably is. = }

0

avatar

I flew into East Midlands… hubby came and picked me up of course 😉
We are around Stamford area. So let’s say… I explore up to 1 hour around here for a bit.
The last 3 nights before we hop on the ferry we stay in Chester. Just under Liverpoool. To explore it.
We stopped there last time and it looked great to stay longer than just a dinner.

The ferry is Holyhead/ Wales into Dublin. As we need customs for the car import.
Last time when I went over it was Liverpool to Belfast. And a night ferry. The one in July is a day ferry and fast ⛴️⛴️⛴️⛴️⛴️

Yes me too. I love public transport. Used it always in Dutchyland or south Spain.

I brought some Irish weather over. They had hot sunny weather and now it’s cloudy and rainy 😉 but all good. I don’t mind. One can dress for it. !LOL

Since we crossed paths I think we've been talking about this. You think this is it, two weeks, and you'll both be parked there? Very patient, you've been.

That was better than google maps. I know that ferry out of Wales. So fun, many memories.

Traveling all through UK and Ireland, Liverpool was our favorite. It had the most 'familiar feel.' Has anyone ever told you it resembles California more than anywhere else on that continent?

Just wondering if I said it first.

Congrats, you. Good luck. Thank you.

0

Oh yes we did.
I officially moved already to Ireland 7 May. Hubby will move 11th July. I had to miss him for many weeks.
This will definitely be it for now. We really go for it. (Depending work of course as that could still change things) but… let’s just go with the flow for now 😎😁
Oh I have been, still I think we would have been better of in Massachusetts 😋

I haven’t been on that ferry yet, so looking forward to it. Will be sure fun.

That’s cool to hear (as a first 😉) we did enjoy Liverpool in May too.
Looking forward to Chester later.
Nope, never heard that one yet.

Thanks @dandays 😊 have a wonderful Thursday… almost weekend ☺️
You are welcome.

I'm thinking a playist, or several playlists. I'll have to see what platforms he's got going.

What kind of music do you like?

It's easier to say what I don't like, since it's only a couple things:

Anything without that spark of life

There's a great deal that I like, yes. Since somewhere around 2014/15 I decreased the amount of time I listen to all music to a bare minimum. It's ironic that you chose this song to introduce me to. Instead of music, I've been mostly listening to either the sound of silence (literally) or whatever sounds are present wherever I am in whatever moment.

I will always prefer this version, even though it's before my time. Probably due to musical influences where I'm from.

I have a while that I don’t listen to music and then after a while I listen non stop.
Especially when I create my art… it’s always on… like I even forget about time… forget to eat or drink at times hahaha 🤣 but the music is there, I just submerge myself in my art. Depending on my mood what I go into. But much is influenced with rock all the way up to gothic.

That’s rather interesting you say that. You listened to “sound of silence” and I come with this cover… wow 🤩
The original… yes, nothing compared with them and the music of that time. It’s also just before my time. But it is the music I grew up with.
Where are you from?
I lived so far in 7 countries… mainly Europe though I must say 😎

Have a great evening!

You reminded me of something. I used to always listen to music when creating until I began carving miniature sculptures, which changed me in ways I have no words to describe. Something about working so tiny put me into this meditative process so deeply that external sounds became non-existent. I stopped playing music when creating without consciously realizing it until now and only because of what you've said.

That’s rather interesting you say that. You listened to “sound of silence” and I come with this cover… wow 🤩

Yes, it just did that to me too. Made me go "Wow".

Sometimes I like the orignal song better, sometimes I like remakes better, sometimes I like both equally.

Where are you from?
I lived so far in 7 countries… mainly Europe though I must say 😎

I can't claim 7 countries, that's cool. Which countries did you live in, which one was your fav, and why? (Twenty questions game, well just 3 actually, 😄)

I'm from Canada, but lived in different parts. Only other country I've lived in for a short time was the States.

Oh that’s cool… so you know the state I am in when I create… it’s like that. I do put music on… but it fades away. Sometimes I “wake up” and realise a day is fully gone and haven’t eaten or drunk anything haha lol it’s like a trance… meditative.
Now you realise it too.

Somehow very interesting. 🤔

It all depends on one’s mood / feelings at that moment I think, what we like the most at that time.
Even music or just silence…
Are you close connected to nature too. I am… when I walk into a forest or along an empty beach, no other people around… I can recharge.
As business can drain me especially people.

No worries, ask away 😉
I started in France but was too young to remember when my parents left when I was 2 years old… then Germany, Netherlands, Spain, Malta, back to Spain, Uk (Scotland and then the remote west coast) but only for 4 months and I moved last month to Ireland. So all is new and I am still in exploring mood 🤓

That’s cool Canada, it’s large enough to move around and visit other areas. I think in total I moved almost 50 times now hahaha 🤣 I think it’s time to settle.

Have a lovely evening.

Oh that’s cool… so you know the state I am in when I create… it’s like that

Yes, that's it exactly. From your description, I see you know it very well. We're talking about the same experience in different ways.😂

Somehow very interesting. 🤔

It absolutely is. The deeper you go in that manner, the more you see, learn, and grow. 😉

It all depends

Yes. It's constantly changing. Watching it happen is also interesting.

Are you close connected to nature too. I am…

Yes. Always. Also the recharge the way you describe.

As business can drain me especially people.

Yes on that for me also.

So all is new and I am still in exploring mood 🤓

Wow and wow! I'm always a little floored by the way it's possible to go to so many different countries to live, visit, etc. Perspective from living where I do.

You'd probably have travelled and lived all over Canada by now if you were situated here and have moved 50 times! There are cultural differences in Canada, depending on what part you're in, it's just more subtle. This is what I noticed when travelling and living in the different areas.

I think it’s time to settle.

I never thought about that until not that long ago, my mother told me I'd "settled and made a home" in the area I live in at present. Then I started wondering how that horrid settling thing had happened to me. 😂

Enjoy your weekend, cheers!

That’s just awesome so many similarities we have.
Very interesting 😁

Life just lays out this path for me somehow. When I lived with my parents even… until I was 16 when I moved out and lived on my own… they moved every year to 2 years. Including 3 countries. So it is something that happened since I was born actually.

At the moment, because the last 7 moves or so, were because of work. It gets draining… it’s so exhausting after a while. And getting older 😋 hahaha !LOL
I think it’s time to settle. Although… a base to call “home” for once would be nice.

I can imagine if I would have lived in Canada that I would have seen a lot. Wow…
The change there will be subtle. But still there. I understand.
The ones I found by changing countries the way I did can be challenging.
It does teach you a lot, and I think because of it… I can adjust to any situation actually 😎
Your mind changes so much.

Sounds like you did settle 🤓 interesting you didn’t realise before, and it just happened. Hahaha 🤣
I never had that as roots didn’t go deep anywhere. Let’s see… maybe one day.
I know already I will move within a year again 😳🫣

Thanks a lot @nineclaws enjoy your Sunday 👋🏻😊

Yes, quite a few similarities. Funny how that goes.

You've got moving around running in your blood from the beginning, no wonder! Moving does get draining. Prior to where I live now, I moved around a lot. I anticipate my next move will be my last one, although not sure where I'll end up this time. Somewhere in Canada though.

The ones I found by changing countries the way I did can be challenging.

That. That's a whole thing unto itself. So many things to deal with; but a really great experience to have with a ton of learning opportunities.

Your mind changes so much.

I can only imagine how that would be. A world of many different ways of seeing must flower in the mind.

I suppose I didn't realize I had settled because I was very focused on a particular path I'd chosen that took sixteen years of hard work to reach my final goal. Settling where I have was never my plan. It just worked out that way by accident of circumstances.

I know already I will move within a year again 😳🫣

I can't see that as a bad thing. I never intended to settle anywhere. Once you do, it can become entrenched and not so easy to leave. That's been my experience.

Thanks a lot @nineclaws enjoy your Sunday 👋🏻😊

Right back at you, except I think it's Monday here now. I lost track the last 3 days. 😂

Indeed funny how those things can go.

Yep, it definitely looks like that. It’s in my blood hahaha 🤣
Never say never or the last one. You never know what can happen next 😉 I sooooo know.

The things I don’t like about moving countries. So much to learn in a short time to get all the paperwork in order. So much to deal with from day 1.
It does teach you a lot, in a very short time… as you just have too. Even a foreign language… just throw yourself in there and it will be lots of fun 🤩

That sounds just lovely, even with the hard work and all what it took. It just happened and now you settled.

I know, it doesn’t have to be a bad thing. I just look at it now as one step closer to my goal 😉😎
One more experience… one more adventure and many more to come.

Thank you so much @nineclaws 👋🏻😊 are you sure it’s Monday… as you are behind of me and here it’s Sunday evening.

Never say never or the last one. You never know what can happen next 😉 I sooooo know.

I bet you do. I'll amend what I said to this; I'm arranging for it to be my very last move before I become dust.🙃

it will be lots of fun 🤩

At another time (long gone by), it would have been fun. Where I am now, I'd perceive it very differently. Call me world weary.

That sounds just lovely, even with the hard work and all what it took. It just happened and now you settled.

I'd describe it as trial by fire. Lovely in that all of it laid a solid foundation for what came next, which took challenging to a whole other level. Call that one a lifelong goal I was never consciously aware of until I reached it ten years ago and when I did, it took me two years to realize what had happened. Probably that doesn't make a lot of sense, but it's impossible to describe in words. 😂 Suffice to say, I accomplished all the major goals in my life at that point.

I know, it doesn’t have to be a bad thing. I just look at it now as one step closer to my goal 😉😎
One more experience… one more adventure and many more to come.

I really like your way of seeing it.

are you sure it’s Monday… as you are behind of me and here it’s Sunday evening.

This was interesting to read and view....as the photos kept me awestruck. So much beauty in one post. My favorite was the picture with the rainbow, the the sunset, then the stairs(I think the stairs are really artistic)

Those stairs I got with my barely hanging on by a thread iphone 8. The Eiffel Tower with a GoPro. Would you believe there's one in there I took with an LG flip phone. Remember those thing? That was a long time ago.

Otherwise, the majority of everything you see from me is either iPhone or GoPro. I'm the least savvyest guy in this thread.

Sometimes I'll throw a bunch in a hat, ~words

This all sounds like so much scrabble word game playing.

(Said the fridge)

Fridges are smart these days.

As you can see they're not getting us anywhere, words.

This is my lifelong opinion of words. Could never sum it up in one sentence. Thank you for your words.

Or, a bush.

Or, a shrub.

It's made of wood, woopty-do.

Maligner of wood. May the sacred trees get you good.

They're famous in San Francisco.

Rainbows. Yes, they are.

They feed them Lawn Fertilizer with 2% Iron???
Oh wait, no, you mean the weird shirted one with the cartload of synthetic substance substitutes. Oh double wait, I think I see potatoes, onions and is that weird yellow green blurish thing bananas?

I just realized it’s you who is eating lawn fertilizer, or maybe it’s just grass you’re ingesting.

My fridge is S0Ooo Smart.. It prank calls other refrigerators and asks if their toilet's running.

= }

I'm from the land of convenience. Anything you need is on the corner. We don't go to three and four joints for groceries like normal cultures cuz the bread guy and the vegetable lady are completely different crafts, no, hell no. Fuck that shit, I said convenience, we're American for fuck sake, we see distance in time cuz everything's on a schedule. Ask one of my peeps how far the post office is and they won't say "3 miles," it's always time—"10 minutes."

I'm so far off now.

All I meant to say was bet your ass we can buy fertilizer and motor oil and vegetable oil and canola oil and synthetic 10W engine oil and, it's not as bad as it sounds but, baby oil at the same place we get butter..

What swan?

I can't believe you can't differentiate bird species.

@corvidae, I think he's beyond help with bird identification but maybe, just maybe, you might be able to feather his nest with some birdness knowledge. Either that, or just peck his green eyes out after pooping on his head. I hear green eyes are a delicacy.

You're overselling your not-so-smart fridge. That joke's so poop encrustated it died in the last flush flood.

Essentially you're saying you shop/live/face scan at big box stores? Distance described in time increments is a big city thing you can't return on time, unlike big box stores.

I'm so far off now.

That's a gentle way of describing what I'm witnessing.

it's not as bad as it sounds but, baby oil at the same place we get butter..

I take it you're already used to eating it in your butter.

Pooping on his head? All that, 145 words and voice memos to say pooping on his head.

What do you mean, it?

If the engine oil goes in engines and the vegetable in veggies then..

Seriously though, I'm serious, it's a cinder block. I even circled it to avoid possible confusion. It's right above the part where I said is that a fucking cinder block, in red.

If the engine oil goes in engines and the vegetable in veggies then..

it's in everything.

Seriously though, I'm serious, it's a cinder block.

Seriously serially sirius, it's a cinder block, stop, drop, white curving round 360 stop circle, mhm. Guess birds aren't even on your radar, shame about @corvidae.

It's right above the part where I said is that a fucking cinder block, in red.

I think it might be the equality sign, you know, for pride month, not a cinder block.

I wonder what that woman was gonna do with that head of cabbage. Probably for her pet rabbit. It looks so out of place amidst all that processed non-food. I forget sometimes that a majority of people have no idea that the food they think is good for them is actually poison. Then I see shopping cards like that and I get sad. No wonder american produce is unripe and expensive. Nobody's buying it!!

Hello.

Ripe is getting weirder. The window for good is getting real narrow. Get some bananas to the house, they're too green to eat but, if they sit on the counter 20 minutes, now they're only good for baking.

Green bananas are for putting into brown bags with rock hard peaches and avocados. They do some crazy hanky-panky in there for a couple days and then they all come out ripe-as-hell-hurry-up-and-eat-them-before-the-fruit-flies-start-spontaneously-generating.

And then the got dang fruit flies! What.is.the.secret?!

I once set a vinegar trap for fruit flies, it worked. But there was so many of the little things in the wine glass by the end of the week, each week, I just switched apartments.

Know any good tricks?

Ps - Thank you.

0

I wonder if they come from organic bananas. Or maybe there are invisible larvae hiding in nooks and crannies all over the insides of every home and as soon as it warms up and you bring home the fruit, they bust out their wings and invade.

I've set vinegar/wine/cider traps for them, too, with a little bit of soap in the water. Once there are enough dead fruit flies in the trap they go apeshit. Either they have some kind of invincibility complex or they're in a Kool-Aid cult.

Do I know any good tricks? No. But sometimes I watch them climbing all over the deathtrap. They're really cute, sweet little things. Makes me appreciate their existence. The appreciation doesn't make them go away, but it does make them less annoying when you can see their individual souls.

Pleasure crossing paths with you, I appreciate the follow. Let me know if I disappoint and I'll make me try harder.
