This morning I went out with my husband to do some activities we had planned, among them to cut some glass for a window and go to the supermarket.

After cutting the glass, my husband tells me that he is going to put gas in the car, if you live in the interior of the country you know what that can mean, a long line. Luckily, on the way we passed by a gas station that was not so crowded and is also right in front of one of the most beautiful, large and refreshing squares in the city. The Plaza Bolivar of Maracay.

So as soon as he took his place, I said goodbye to him for a while to walk around and take some pictures of the beautiful place. I stayed in the first quarter of the square, because I had to keep an eye on the pace of the gas station queue.

In this first quadrant I was enraptured with a majestic Samán, emblematic tree of the state where I live, Aragua. A tree of great size both in width and height, it is highly prized for the shade it provides and for its wood.

From the saman I saw one of the many fountains that adorn the square, I approached and when I was taking pictures a couple arrived, mother and son, who were visiting the city. I asked them to take some pictures of me, and then they asked me to return the favor, and I gladly took their pictures.

Looking around I also came across a different couple: a man sharing his breakfast with an iguana, I waited a little while for them to finish eating and then I approached them, I asked the man for permission to photograph him and he kindly accepted. I was amused, the iguana did not lose sight of him and when he took the bottle to drink water the iguana raised his head as if waiting for me to give it to him.

At the end of the tour I looked to the east looking for the sky and it gave me a beautiful image.

Paseo no planificado

Esta mañana salí con mi esposo a hacer algunas actividades que teníamos previstas, entre ellas ir a cortar unos vidrios para una ventana y pasar por el supermercado.

Después de cortar los vidrios, mi esposo me dice que le va a colocar gasolina al carro, si vives en el interior del país sabes lo que eso puede significar, hacer una larga cola. Por suerte, en el camino pasamos por una estación de servicios que no estaba tan llena y que además queda justo al frente de una de las plazas más bellas, grande y refrescante de la ciudad. Así que apenas se colocó en el lugar que le correspondía, me despedí de él por un rato para dar una vuelta y tomar algunas fotografías del hermoso lugar. Me quedé en el primer cuarto de la plaza, pues tenía que estar pendiente del ritmo de avance de la cola gasolinera.

En este primer cuadrante quedé embelesada con un majestuoso Samán, árbol emblemático del Estado donde vivo, Aragua. Un árbol de gran tamaño tanto de ancho como de alto, es muy preciado por la sombra que da y por su madera.

Desde el samán divisé una de las tantas fuentes que adornan la plaza, me acerqué y cuando estaba tomando las fotografías llego una pareja, madre e hijo, que estaban de visita por la ciudad. Les pedí que me tomaran unas fotos. y luego ellos me pidieron la retribución del favor, que encantada les tomé sus fotografías.

Mirando para los lados también me topé con una pareja distinta: un hombre compartiendo su desayuno con una iguana, esperé un ratico a que terminaran de comer y luego me acerqué a ellos, le pedí permiso al señor para fotografiarlo y amistosamente acepto. Me daba gracia, la iguana no lo perdía de vista y cuando tomó la botella para beber agua la iguana levantó la cabeza como esperando que le diera.

Ya para terminar el recorrido miré hacia el este buscando el cielo y me regaló una hermosa imagen.
