My Golden Toyota 86 is yet another custom car I've added to my Gran Turismo 7 collection

Something dawned on me the other night. I had yet to create a golden car in Gran Turismo 7. Out of the many dozens of livery designs that I’ve taken the time to make, none of them have been a liquid metal gold. That all changes now as I introduce my Golden Toyota 86.

The 86 is a RWD JDM coupe that is highly customizable. It’s a street tuner’s dream really and it is perfect for drifting. There’s a lot to love about the 86, which I prefer over the Subaru BRZ for no particular reason.

For this livery, I wanted to go all out on the gold. I was careful to not add too much in terms of decals so that I did not distract from the golden finish.

I choose shades of red as the secondary color. The top portion of the car is blacked out. It all blends together very well to create a cohesive design.

The red wheels do it for me. I considered painting them gold, but the red just pops so well.

You may also notice this car has a body kit and a huge spoiler. GT7 doesn’t let you go all out on body styling in that area, but there are a few cars such as this one that come equipped with a body kit. Most cars you can only add splitters to, but this one has a more underground feel to it.

Since this is a drift car, I went all in on the new drifting component of the Scapes photography mode. These shots of the 86 sliding around corners are totally epic. Being able to capture images like this in a video game still blows my mind.

After I burnt through my new tires, I figured it was time for some still photographs. I went to all sorts of places across the world to showcase this car. It looks great everywhere that I took it.

As for driving this car, it’s a total joy to control. It’s got solid speed and acceleration, but it’s the handling that makes it fun. It gets around corners effortlessly. You don’t have to drift if you don’t want to, but anytime you pull the e-brake it will be ready to go.
