I saw a classic 80s Porsche 911 Carrera Cabriolet (930) and many other cool rides while out car spotting

My car spotting series continues with another iteration. If you sit at home all day, you will never see some things. Getting out increases the odds of seeing cool cars drastically. Although I mostly stick to the same city, I still see new cars daily. Perhaps it’s because I always have my eyes peeled. Maybe it’s my thoughts manifesting them. Or perhaps I live in car enthusiast heaven. Whichever it may be, I’ve got 10 more awesome rides to share with you today.

Let’s get into it…

Porsche 911 Carrera Cabriolet (930)

You can tell by the antique license plate on this car that it is not a common sight. It’s a very well-kept mid-80s model Porsche. I saw the guy pull up in this thing, waited for him to go into the grocery store, then captured my photos. After I went inside, I ended up running into the guy and struck up a conversation with him. I started by complimenting his car and he was surprised that I even knew what it was. He has nonchalant about it but ended up being very talkative. I could tell he was happy that I took the time to talk to him and so was I.

Chevrolet Corvette C8

This C8 pulled up near me in the grocery store parking lot and instantly I was armed and ready with my camera. Some old man got out of it and once he was away I had plenty of time to capture some photos. I love the gray and yellow combo. You can even spot yellow on the interior. This car was totally gorgeous and it sounded amazing when he started it up. I saw numerous people walking through the parking lot who had their jaws drop when they saw this car.

Mercedes-Benz SLC43 AMG

This AMG has a 385-hp twin-turbo V6. Plus it is super small and lightweight. I’m assuming it feels like driving a mini rocket. Sadly, I’m pretty sure the owner of the car is some older lady who owns a boutique. I have a feeling she’s not what you’d call an aggressive driver. Such a shame, because a car like this was built to be driven. Some people just wish to spend the most money they can to impress their friends and associates. It’s something that drives a car enthusiast such as myself mad.

Audi S5

This car was looking damn good. I’ll always love a clean Audi, but once you start stepping up to S and RS models, that’s when I’m really interested. I saw the dude driving this and he was flirting with a really ugly cashier inside the store. I actually saw this car a second time the following day while out for delivery. It was parked in front of the house he lives, very close by to the Subaru WRX which you will see later in this post.

Roush Mustang

Another custom-built car that most people just let fly under the radar. Roush is well known for upgrading Mustangs to higher levels of performance. I can’t tell you the exact specs on this thing because there are many different Roush tunes, but trust me when I say that this thing is a monster. I wish I could have heard it start up, especially because it was parked inside a garage which always magnifies the sound of an already aggressive exhaust.

Subaru BRZ

This one wasn’t anything too special, but I really just love the BRZ and 86. It’s such a stylish little RWD coupe and this one in particular was a newer model in great condition. It was some woman driving it that I’m assuming just wanted a cute little sports car. I have doubts that she’s ever drifted this thing, but who knows, maybe I’m incorrect on that assumption.

BMW M3 (E92)

I see this M3 all of the time and I’ve also been lucky enough to hear it fly by a handful of times. I absolutely hate the wheels on this car, but it’s still a dope ride nonetheless. I have a feeling I’ll be able to get better photos of those rides in the future, but for now, the best I have is this one in-motion shot I got as the guy was driving away.

Subaru WRX 1

Usually, I’m only impressed by a Subaru if it’s an STI. That is only changed when the car is heavily customized like today’s WRX was. It was parked outside of this house and I really could only see it from the back, but it was a great view. The custom twilights really set it off for me, but the black wheels and decals were also unique. Overall I really thought this far looked nice and I’m sure that deep rumble that Subarus are well known for sounded great too.

Tesla Model Y

Most of the time when I see a Tesla, I’m not too impressed. I see so many and the design of the car is pretty basic. I know some of them are ridiculously fast, but others are just boring electric cars to me. You can throw all of that out with this obsidian Model Y. The Asian dude that hopped out of it sure knows how to make a Tesla look nice. He had a body kit on it and lots of carbon fiber. I was very impressed with this build but didn’t get a chance to tell the guy how great the car looked.

Subaru WRX 2

This one looks a lot like the other WRX on this post. Both are white with black wheels. This second one is a bit less customized though. The mountain vanity plate on the front is the only major customization piece. I really love it though. It's small so it's not obtrusive to the car's design, but it definitely stands out.

There goes another excellent collection of unique rides. I’m looking forward to an upcoming trip to Pennsylvania where I’m hoping I see all sorts of new cars to take photos of. You can be I’ll be updating with another car spotting post again very soon.

Thanks for checking this one out!

I should have another one in the next week or so. I will soon be traveling and that will give me access to many different cars that I normally wouldn't see here where I live.

Thank you. I think it is the Corvette for me. I love those C8s and that grey and yellow combo was looking sexy.

Would you believe that we see a lot of these cars on the streets of Lagos?
We have so many rich people in Lagos

Yes I'd believe it. Money seems to find its way to every part of the world, some places more than others. I bet you have a lot of fun seeing really nice cars like that. Great way to motivate yourself to strive for higher status.

It’s crazy that the guy that owned that yellow Porsche called it “that old thing” and I was like man you have no idea. Real car enthusiasts think that car is so cool, you should be very proud. It was extremely well kept. The fact that it’s even still running 40 years after it was originally built is a huge achievement.

That C8 is such a beat! Especially in that color. Borderline too flashy...but really nice!

The interior had all sorts of yellow accents and I know that thing must be a total joy to ride around in.

Why are people buying four doors A5s is beyond my comprehension... Coupes have way better looks.

(Edited)

Yes, I think the same. But, when it was start of production of A5 I thought that it will be evergreen car. Now I see, that it's rather quite boring.

BAM! My thoughts exactly. The sportback is cool and all, but it just looks so similar to an A4 or A6. There is no point in the four door version. I much prefer the coupe, but when it comes to newer models, I see way more sportbacks.
