RE: Water Lily

Never seen water lilies grow up out of the water like that, or at least I assume it is water lilies. The water looks fairly shallow in the first picture as well. Or am I deceiving myself? Water lilies usually tend to populate the deeper water. But might be some variety that I have not seen that does the exact opposite of what they normally do. Nature tends to be kind of funny in that way sometimes. =)
