My Daily Life Post: "Still Producing Copra Here at The Farm and Making Broomsticks"

Sadly, I tried to finished husking all coconuts but I can't because I already suffered pain to my hands and my back. My Mother also worried for me that is why she was decided to looked for any person who are expert of husking. I also decided to stopped what I am doing just like husking and looked for any works to make my self productive as always. This time, I am planning to make lots of broomsticks out coconut leaves. It needs to gathered hundreds of leaves and using a sharp knife, the leaves at the sticks must be separated perfectly. Gladly, There are lots of coconut leaves falled to the ground and the next thing I will do is to cut the leaves carefully away from the palm. It takes almost half an hour of gathering those leaves and as I observed that there are already lots of it, I started to removed and separated those sticks using a sharp knife.

While waiting for someone who will do husking job, I also kept myself busy making broomsticks out of coconut leaves.

After a few hours of waiting, finally my Mother was already hired someone do husking and the activity was continued. This young Man is very expert and He did his job very well, He knows how to use this sharp think for husking and He is very fast on his work. Those coconut husking only takes almost an hour and I was very amazed of his Work performance. After that, my Mother payed him and we are very thankful because finally we can started to count and break those coconuts into two pieces before drying it under the sun. We are trying do our best to dry all coconut meat so that we can sell it next week.

While waiting for husking to finished, we decided to cook snack for our hired Who do the job husking. We decided to cook Latik out of ripe Banana and we cooked it outside of the house. Good thing we have steamer and we can cooked lots of it. Giving him some snacks can help doing the job very perfectly. We cooked under the big tree so we cannot hit directly from the sun.

At the back of our house was very messy because of lots of coconut shells, husks and meat dry at the top of the plain sheets. But we still do not have time to clean the yard due to a busy situations and it really needs to be done while rainy season is not yet come. Lots of dry firewoods are also scattered to the ground and some of it will be cut and sell to the Market also. Dry leaves comes from the trees are also fall to the ground and it really needs to swept but this General cleaning activities will be done soon as we finished producing and selling our Copra.

While waiting for the latik snack to cook, I also boiled water for a hot coffee. Eating latik snack combined with coffee is very perfect combination even if it is already Noontime, I keep drinking hot coffee. I decided to create a simple cooking area made of stones and concrete, and after that I also cooked rice for our lunch. This very old kettle I have here is very useful because it boils two liters of water and we can also drink lots of sterilized water.

It takes almost 4 hours of husking and every afternoon, we also kept those dried coconut meat inside of the house owned by Grandma. We classified those dried coconut meat and those still needs to dry by next day is also separated. I felt very happy that lots of coconut meat already dry and another hundreds of coconuts to dry tomorrow. Truly producing copra takes few weeks specially when it only dries under the sun.

Another Productivity life has already done today, and it will continued tomorrow.
