A Wonderful Nature Adventure at Manticao River

Exploring in the Natural is one of my hobby since when I was a young girl, this river here is already part of ourlives and it gives a great contributions not only for our daily life activities but also to have a wonderful and relaxing views. Manticao river contains lots of parts and it connected with lots of Zones, Barangays and even Sitios. Lots of tourists who came from Neighboring Municipalities and Cities also loves to visit here doing picnics and camps near at the river. Residents who lives near at the river also went here just to catch fish and shrimps for meals.

This river is located at Municipality of Manticao, in the Province of Misamis Oriental Mindanao Philippines. This is one of the longest body of water here in Manticao and it travels from Mountainous parts of Barangay Digkilaan all the way down here in Barangay Poblacion. This place where I went was in particularly located at Barangay Paniangan Riverside.

This river contains a deposit and tons of rocks and fine sands. On each side of the river are different kinds of rocks including its colors, sizes and shapes. It keeps the area very attractive to see, while fine sands can also be seen under water including peebles. Rocks and sands are best for landscapes and backfill porpuses in fact there are lots of people came here just to gathered lots of stones for home porpuses. Children who went here for taking a bathed also loves to sit on the sands and enjoyed the freshnes of he water. Most of the tourists who visited here put their tents and mats at the plain areas of the river and spend night or day together with their friends and Families. Playing sand castles and stone balancing can also done here.

Every Hot Season specially during Summer, the water here at the river will become Crystal clear. Fresh water animals like shrimps, crabs and fish can be seen underwater and a fine sand and big rocks submerged. Lots of people also went here in this place to washed their clothes, this is a perfect place for laundry activities because it contains a cool and shady parts because of the tall trees. Rock that submerged at the fresh water also expected to have fresh water plants and a perfet areas for a bathe.

Wild plants and flowers also grows near at the river. Some of it are used for medicinal porpuses. This vine plants here grows at the sandy cliffs produced lots of purple flowers and it is very common here at the river. In local terms we called buyo, and it helps the place for not be damage or collapse because of the water. The cliffs here are covered with this kind of plants and some of it are already at the big trees sticking. When this plants produced lots of purple flowers, the place will be more attractive and different kinds of insects like bees also fly around here.

There are lots of big ricks can also be seen here and most of it are silica rocks. Some of it are already submerged at the fresh water and it only shows up when the water is keeping down. Each surface of the rocks are contains with line marks indicates of the great impact or colide with each other During the great flood. This rocks came from the Mountainous areas of Manticao and washed away going to the low lying lands.

The water channels always change everytime when there is a great flood happens. This place near at the Acacia tree was once a dry soil areas but as it keeps collapsing, the soil washed away by flood water and the tree is slowly going down near at the river. The cliffa that contains lots of bamboos also collapsed and the bamboo trees also submerged at the fresh water.

Lots of trees like this one also helps the place to become cool and relaxing. This very old acacia tree already grows and stands almost 80 years already. It grows near at the river and a perfect area to do minute rest during the great Nature adventure. This river is truly a perfect areas to visit specially during summer season.
