RE: Breathtaking Designs at the Historic Saadian Tombs in Marrakech, Morocco

Wow, I'm speechless. It's incredible that this was done years ago, without technology or anything we have today. Aren't we supposed to be advancing as a society? Those were true artists; we don't see such works of art today. What a marvel it is to be able to visit them.

One question... Does the difference in size between the tombs have any significance?

I completely agree. This level of craftsmanship and artistry is so rare to find these days. We rely too much on the assistance of machines that we forget all of the marvelous things we can make with our hands. I always appreciate seeing places like this because you can tell that a real person put their heart and soul into the work. There was nothing written about the individual tombs, but I would assume the bigger ones were more important. It said that some friends and advisors were also buried on the grounds, so I think they were probably in the smaller tombs.
