Pequeña aventura en Ica(Perú)/ Little adventure in Ica(Peru)[ESP/ENG]

Saludos comunidad! En esta ocasión deseo compartirles un pequeño viaje realizado con mi pareja a la ciudad de Ica durante mis vacaciones de medio año. Para empezar este destino ya estaba dentro de nuestros planes por lo que hicimos la mayor parte de cosas con mucha antelación.

Greetings community! On this occasion I want to share with you a little trip made with my wife to the city of Ica during my half-year vacation.
To begin with, this destination was already in our plans, so we did most of the things well in advance.

Laguna de Huacachina, Ica/Huacachina Lagoon, Ica
Salimos un día lunes muy temprano en la mañana desde nuestra casa hacia la terminal de buses que nos llevaría hacia nuestro destino. Fue un viaje de unas tres horas aproximadamente durante el cual vimos una película, comimos algunos snacks y descansamos un poco. Al llegar a nuestro destino lo primero que hicimos fue recuperar fuerzas tomando un desayuno propio de allá, llamado de queso frito. Y aunque el clima no estaba de nuestro lado ya que el cielo estaba un poco gris aún estando cerca del mediodía decidimos confiar en que mejoraría sin que nos dieramos cuenta.

We left very early on a Monday morning from our house to the bus terminal that would take us to our destination. It was a trip of about three hours during which we watched a movie, ate some snacks and rested a bit. When we arrived at our destination, the first thing we did was recover our strength by eating a typical breakfast from there, called fried cheese. And although the weather was not on our side since the sky was a little gray even being close to noon we decided to trust that it would improve without us noticing.

Rumbo a la aventura/Heading to adventure

Lo siguiente fue ir a nuestro hotel, el cual ya habia reservado días atrás para poder organizar nuestros planes mejor. Éste no se encontraba tan cerca al centro de la ciudad como pensamos así que nos tomó un poco de tiempo encontrarlo. Nuestra sorpresa fue grata al llegar al lugar ya que las instalaciones eran hermosas y nos recibió una dama muy amable que nos indicó las reglas del lugar y dónde se encontraban las habitaciones. Estuvimos viendo los alrededores y al encontrar la piscina no sabíamos si nadaríamos puesto que teníamos el frío aún presente.

The next thing was to go to our hotel, which I had already booked a few days ago in order to better organize our plans. This one wasn't as close to the city center as we thought so it took us a while to find it. We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived at the place since the facilities were beautiful and we were received by a very kind lady who told us the rules of the place and where the rooms were. We were looking around and when we found the pool we didn't know if we would swim since we were still cold.

Nuestro primer y principal destino fue la Laguna de Huacachina por lo que tomamos un taxi hasta el lugar que se encontraba a solo unos diez minutos de nuestro hotel. Decidimos almorzar en un restaurante ubicado al lado de la laguna por lo que comimos unos deliciosos platos típicos teniendo una vista magnífica del lugar. Estuvimos contentos ya que los rayos del sol empezaron a aparecer levemente mejorando por completo nuestra experiencia. Decidimos caminar alrededor de la laguna, tomar algunas fotos y conversar un poco antes de continuar nuestra aventura.

Our first and main destination was the Huacachina Lagoon, so we took a taxi to the place that was only about ten minutes from our hotel. We decided to have lunch in a restaurant located next to the lagoon, so we ate some delicious typical dishes with a magnificent view of the place. We were happy as the sun's rays started to appear slightly improving our experience completely. We decided to walk around the lagoon, take some photos and chat a bit before continuing our adventure.

Lo siguiente en el plan fue realizar un tour que consistía en ser llevados en buggies por las dunas alrededor de la laguna y realizar sandboarding. Esperamos a que nuestro grupo de ocho personas estuviera completo para que nuestro guía encendiera el motor y empezara a recorrer la ruta por las dunas. Sin esperarlo sentimos mucha adrenalina durante el recorrido ya que la alta velocidad junto a las subidas y bajadas de las dunas te hacían sentir como estar montado en una montaña rusa. En unas tres ocasiones nos detuvimos para realizar el sandboarding, con las explicaciones del guía nos ibamos lanzando uno a uno con muchos ánimos y un poco de temor de caer de la tabla. Mi pareja solo se lanzó una vez ya que la altura en las últimas dunas era demasiado alta. Antes de finalizar el recorrido fuimos llevados a ver la puesta del sol para despedirnos de tan hermoso lugar.

The next thing on the plan was to take a tour that consisted of being taken in dune buggies around the lagoon and doing sandboarding. We waited until our group of eight people was complete before our guide started the engine and began to drive through the dunes. Without expecting it, we felt a lot of adrenaline during the tour since the high speed together with the ups and downs of the dunes made you feel like you were riding a roller coaster. On about three occasions we stopped to do sandboarding, with the guide's explanations we went launching one by one with great encouragement and a little fear of falling off the board. My wife only dove once as the height on the last few dunes was too high. Before the end of the tour we were taken to see the sunset to say goodbye to such a beautiful place.

Full of happiness and sand on all sides, we returned to the hotel, where we took a shower and ordered some hamburgers for dinner for delivery. The cold and strong wind at night made us give up going into the pool, but we still enjoyed the huge Moon present at that moment.

Al segundo día acabamos un desayuno delicioso ofrecido por nuestra anfitriona y salimos con destino hacia la Hacienda Caravedo. Esta famosa destilería nos cautivó por completo con sus instalaciones y toda la información proporcionada por el guía del lugar. Aprendimos un poco acerca de la construcción del lugar, las variedades de uvas utilizadas para sus bebidas alcohólicas, el procedimiento para obtener el tan afamado Pisco y su origen. Finalmente, y para nuestro deleite, termimanos degustando algunas variedades de éste. La experiencia por completo fue tan maravillosa que juramos regresar en algún momento para revivir ese sentimiento.

On the second day we finished a delicious breakfast offered by our hostess and we left for Hacienda Caravedo. This famous distillery completely captivated us with its facilities and all the information provided by the guide on site. We learned a little about the construction of the place, the varieties of grapes used for its alcoholic beverages, the procedure to obtain the famous Pisco and its origin. Finally, and to our delight, we ended up tasting some varieties of it. The entire experience was so wonderful that we vowed to return at some point to relive that feeling.

Hacienda Caravedo/Caravedo Estate

Acabando el recorrido regresamos al centro de la ciudad, para poder almorzar mientras conocíamos un poco la Plaza de Armas de Ica. Luego de terminar otro delicioso almuerzo y disfrutar una bebida de mandarina propia de la estación nos encaminamos hacia una ruta un poco más misteriosa de la ciudad: El Parque de las Brujas de Cachiche.

Finishing the tour we returned to the center of the city, to be able to have lunch while we got to know a little about the Plaza de Armas of Ica. After finishing another delicious lunch and enjoying a mandarin drink typical of the season, we headed towards a slightly more mysterious route in the city: The Parque de las Brujas de Cachiche.

A unos quince minutos del centro de la ciudad se encontraba este parque lleno de misterio en el cual encontramos varias estatuas de brujas representando en específico algo deseado por sus visitantes, tales como amor, dinero, sabiduría y algunos más que no puedo recordar. Anduvimos por el lugar que aún sin ser tan grande era suficiente para dejarte impresionado y nos percatamos de unas pequeñas estatuas de faunos que rodeban y complementaban el aura del lugar. Cerca al parque habían unas tiendas en las que habían una infinidad de souvenirs y en las que terminé adquiriendo un amuleto de bruja con el que tenía que realizar un ritual específico para tener más suerte y dinero.

About fifteen minutes from the city center was this park full of mystery in which we found several statues of witches specifically representing something desired by its visitors, such as love, money, wisdom and some more that I can't remember. We walked through the place, which, even without being so big, was enough to impress you and we noticed some small statues of fauns that surrounded and complemented the aura of the place. Near the park there were some shops where there were an infinity of souvenirs and where I ended up buying a witch amulet with which I had to perform a specific ritual to have more luck and money.

Nuestra siguiente parada fue La Palmera de las 7 cabezas ubicado cerca al parque de las brujas, al que no pudimos ingresar pero logramos observar y conocer la leyenda que consistía en que los lugareños debían podar el árbol y no dejar crecer la séptima cabeza de lo contrario ocurriría un desastre como ya había acontencido antes y en el que se había producido una inundación.

Our next stop was La Palmera de las 7 cabezas located near the park of the witches, which we could not enter but we managed to observe and learn about the legend that the locals had to prune the tree and not let the seventh head grow otherwise a disaster would occur as it had happened before and in which a flood had occurred.

Siendo ésta nuestra última parada decidimos regresar al centro de la ciudad en el que se estaba realizando un pasacalles y el cual decidimos acompañar antes de retornar a nuestro hogar. Culminado el evento compramos algunos dulces y bebidas de recuerdo y nos dirigimos hacia la terminal de buses.
Agotados, felices y con mucho por contar regresamos a Lima, casi a medianoche tomando un merecido descanso correspondiente a tal aventura.

This being our last stop, we decided to return to the center of the city where a parade was taking place and which we decided to accompany before returning home. After the event, we bought some sweets and souvenir drinks and headed towards the bus terminal.
Exhausted, happy and with a lot to tell, we returned to Lima, almost at midnight, taking a well-deserved rest corresponding to such an adventure.
