Porto, Portugal — Part 2: where our hearts remembered the sea
Hi everyone 🤍🤗
It was probably already our third day — but when you travel, time starts to feel different. Days stop being counted, and what stays are the feelings.

We just kept moving forward, without a plan, letting Porto reveal itself to us. Narrow streets, the air after rain, a few people passing by, and that soft light that makes everything feel quieter, deeper.

At some point, we got on one of the old trams — the kind that feels more like an experience than just a ride. It departs from the museum and is still part of everyday life in the city, but inside… it feels like stepping into another time. Wood, warm light, the gentle creak — it’s not about movement, it’s about a feeling.

The ticket cost €6 — it turned out the price had increased compared to what we had read before. You can pay directly inside the tram, which somehow makes the experience feel even more simple and authentic ✨
We took the first line — the one that runs along the riverside.
We had read about long queues, but in February it was completely different. There were fewer tourists, and we even had the rare chance to take our time and choose our seats.

The tram slowly followed the water, and little by little, the ocean began to appear outside the windows.

And that part meant everything to us.

Because some things are hard to explain. My husband and I are from Mariupol — a city by the Sea of Azov, a place we can no longer return to. And maybe anyone who has ever lived near water will always search for it again — in other places, in other cities 🌊

When we got off, it became clear: that day, the ocean wouldn’t let us come close. The road to the beach was closed because of the storm. The wind was stronger, the waves higher.
But even from a distance… it felt real.
Somewhere among those heavy, restless waves stood a small lighthouse — almost invisible, yet steady. And in that moment, we just stood there.

Watching.
Feeling.
By the shore, we were just capturing little moments of each other — taking photos, laughing, watching the waves and the changing light.
It was something very simple and warm — about us, about closeness, and about how important it is to just be there together 🤍
(And I guess in Part 2 my husband finally appears — he was almost missing in Part 1 😄)

Because sometimes you don’t need to get closer for your heart to recognize something.
The feeling of home 🤍
