Aikido and the Practice of Emptiness

Today, I danced into ecstatic bliss. My neck tension dissipated, my posture improved the rest of the day, and there was clear energy in my thinking and feeling states. Today's sweaty dance session produced a deep sense of gratitude for the movement arts, in all its forms. It had me thinking about all the ways I want to become more alive in my body.
This coming year, I have hopes to start training in Aikido. I've been to a few classes at my local dojo, yet I'm feeling a call to deepen my practice in this unique style of martial arts.

Tioman Island Photography Guide

In this landscape photography guide, I show you a place in Malaysia that is great for seascape photography: Tioman Island. I share how to get there, where to stay, and my favorite photo spot on the island.
Tioman Island is a small tropical paradise located off the east coast of Malaysia. It is known for its crystal clear waters, white sandy beaches, and lush green forests. Two of its main attractions are diving and snorkeling. The island is home to various dive sites, boasting a wide variety of marine life.

Tortured Soul

I wonder what's holiday like for other tortured souls out there. To be honest it doesn't bother me anymore if I have to spend holidays alone. I've been to many parts of the world and I've spent holidays this way. I'm so used to it by now and it actually helped me toughen up. I lost my parents too early, my sister and I are not even close but we are getting there. I've let go of my toxic relatives. My best friend passed, I purged my other friends out of my life. So yeah, this is my reality and I'm okay with it. Some of us do thrive in the darkness.
Holiday is just a normal day for me, it means sitting on the couch, binge-watching some series on Netflix, cuddling my cat, and sleeping (the best thing of all).

Bolehill Nights - lightpainting in an abandoned quarry products factory

Tonight we had a choice of locations to shoot in the dark. The brewery which is currently accessible but every Tom, Dick and Harriet had been in today, drawing attention to itself. I didn't fancy getting caught by the security packing all the expensive lightpainting gear I had in my bag so made a choice to go somewhere else.
That somewhere else was Bolehill Quarry Works, an abandoned complex I had recce'd a few days earlier.

Lost History?
"I've recently been learning about some historical things that many would just dismiss as conspiracy theories, and who knows maybe some of them are."
It can be difficult to determine what really happened in history as it can be difficult to determine what is happening now in current times.
Maybe the official historical narrative is a conspiracy theory as well?
Anyways... Some of this stuff is in my opinion not very likely though I do try to keep my mind open to the possibilities and admit my own ignorance and that there's so much I don't really know.

"The sun and the two drops of water"

Over the meadows of the majestic universe, countless planets and stars overflow it with their presence, making that infinite night a party with balloons and celebrations. In the midst of so many guests, one character has his reserved seat, an astro-prince who bows before his King to thank him for the brightness he radiates through his light. It is a small sun that, despite the thousands and thousands of years it carries, seems to keep the passage of time in a tiny container that hangs between his hands.*
There are many anecdotes that occur at the top of the heavens, but the truth is that most recognize the work of that diligent sun that revolves around it to provide its light to all present.

Memories of Christmas Past - (Christmas Short Story STB Writing Prompt Week 24)

The steam from the macchinetta fills the room with walnut wafts born of bitter rain. I grab a mug from the cupboard. The pot rattles a low thrum as the last of the water shoots up into the pot chamber. It reminds me of the thrum of a steam train.
I glance at the roll of silver wrapping paper on the kitchen counter. I dash one sugar into the mug and instinctively reach for a second mug before stopping mid-movement.
What am I doing?
Coffee… right.
