I hope this week has been treating you well, as we move into the fall season!

Many of us celebrate "Caturday on Saturday" with uploading lots of cat pictures — after all, it's quite an old web tradition — but who is to say that we can't share cat related content at other times?

Of course we can!

In The Beginning...

When we first started the Curator Cat blog, the intention was specifically to offer a counterpoint of content in what felt like an ocean of crypto and blockchain content.

Although our community isn't quite as cryptocentric as it was in 2018, it remains what this blog is about today... even though we do occasionally put out content that touches on other subjects than just cats. Although there are always a few cat photos thrown in!

So what's the big deal with cats?

Without really asking for the job, cats somehow became the unofficial "mascots" of the Internet... dating back as far as I can remember, all the way to very early text based forums where I first came across the term "Cat on keyboard" as an accompaniment to a seemingly garbled and incomplete post about something.

With the exception of Shangri and Nala (they are still young!) all the cats that have lived in our household have accidentally sent email at sone time or another... or erased important documents, or added a little gibberish to a blog post.

This is simply the way of cats!

It is likely that cats (rather than dogs) becoming Internet mascots is primarily related to the fact that a cat is far more likely to wander across a computer keyboard than a dog... and ferrets are simply not numerous enough to attain legendary status!

And parrots? They are far more interested in talking than in typing!

In the meantime, we have been working on an "Hive User Experience" post that hopefully will be ready in the next few days!

These are some of the more active Cat Communities — why not join them ALL? Many of the allow you to share your cat posts, even if you started at a different community!

HiveCats by @curatorcat is a central "gathering place" for cat content on Hive; promoting the use of the #hivecats tag for feline content!

Cat Snaps by @manorvillemike is a place to post pictures of your cats when you don't have a whole lot to say beyond just sharing your cute photos!

Caturday by @saboin is a community where we get to celebrate posts relating to Saturday — aka "Caturday" — our own special day!

Cat Photos by @andrarchy is a "mixed use" cat content community; posts can be just photos or longer, as long as the subject is CATS!

Cats by @captainklaus (and Sissi!) is another "general" cat content community.

There are a number of other feline communities listed on Hive, but I am not sharing them for now as they have not had any activity (by their Admins OR users) since the Steem/Hive fork. Updates as they become available!
