Greetings, Fabulous Felines and Hoomans of Hivelandia and surrounding communities!

It's another beautiful weekend, and that also means it's CATURDAY, and time for another round of cat photos!

Curator Cat's 6th Hiveversary!

Today is also a special day for me because it marks my 6th anniversary of starting the Curator Cat blog!

We'd been thinking about doing a cat blog to promote the whole Caturday idea, and the "old chain" just happened to cross our path at that moment, so we got started!

Had no great expectations for anything much to happen and — at least in the beginning — very little did! But the blog has stood the test of time, and we're still going!

We started with a modest 50 USD investment — which, at the time, only bought about 30SP on the old chain — and took it from there.

Six years later, our wee project is closing on 4,000 Hive Power and we've posted more than 600 Caturday and general cat picture updates!

You might wonder why we'd do something as nutty as have an "all cats" blog on a tech-heavy venue like Hive... it just made sense. After all, cats are the unofficial mascots of the Internet! Oh, and we tend to be very popular companions for the nerdier types in life, even though they aren't willing to always admit it!

And let's not forget that "Caturday" originated in the 4chan community, and it doesn't get much nerdier than that!

Hive Cats Community

Of course, it has been more than just promoting my own stuff.

After Hive set up shop here on it's new home, we started The Hive Cats Community here, and even though we're very much a niche community, we have gradually reached about 300 subscribers.

Along with @saboin's Caturday Community we offer a dedicated community for cat related content.

Do love me a good sunny spot!

What Lies Ahead?

Well, basically more cat photos, of course! What were you expecting?

Of course, we also have ambitions to continue building the Curator Cat blog, and to promote it more outside Hive's borders!

I want to reach 5,000 HP this year... hope that turns out to be possible!

I am also hoping we can make it to 5,000 Hive Power before the end of the year. That part remains to be seen! Of course, if we end up with "Curator KITTENS" this year, it might be easier!

Busy House!

We still have the Son-Hooman staying with us till the end of the weekend!

Whereas he's not that much of a cat person, I don't mind him being here as he is mostly quiet and just enjoys playing his computer games on the big TV screen downstairs.

He has to go back to start his "work" next week, and then our house should be all quiet again!

Crypto Positivity?

It has been lovely to see the Cryptosphere doing a little better lately, including our own Hive token which is within striking distance of reaching a new 12-month high.

Of course, we're rather nervous about it all, basically holding our collective breaths in expectation of waking up tomorrow morning only to see all the gains erased by some new scandal or piece of negative news.

We can but hope that doesn't happen, and that we're on the cusp of something similar to what started in April of 2017.

Cat Photos by @andrarchy is a "mixed use" cat content community; posts can be just photos or longer, as long as the subject is CATS!

Cats by @captainklaus (and Sissi!) is another "general" cat content community.

There are a number of other feline communities listed on Hive, but I am not sharing them for now as they have not had any activity (by their Admins OR users) since the Steem/Hive fork. Updates as they become available!
