Curator Cat: Lazy Holiday Weekend Caturday!
Greetings, Fabulous Felines and Hoomans of Hivelandia and surrounding communities!
Yes, we have arrived at Saturday once more, and that means Caturday, my favorite day of the week for sharing cat photos and looking at other people's picture of their feline friends!

We survived the 4th of July fireworks without anyone getting too scared. The Hoomans turned up the music on their computers a bit so that helped drown things out, and they were both at home with us, which was nice.
Shangri and Nala — who were only very tiny kittens for 4th of July last year — curled up in their bed in an inside closet where you really couldn't hear the fireworks.
Shangri, doing his best Sphinx imitation!
In any case, the fireworks were somewhat minimal because there is a strict "burn ban" in effect, including fireworks. Of course, there are plenty of silly Hoomans who ignore such things.
This is a pretty "lazy weekend" for both Felines and Hoomans, because it is Independence Day and commerce is pretty much stopped.
Nala getting as comfortable as possible! She normally shares the bed with another cat.
I think it is really good for the Hoomans to have a day of being pretty still... they seem to be worried a lot about life in the greater world, these days.
It is a rather warm but hazy and muggy day today... the sunny spots weren't quite as good as I might hope for, but I found good plaes to nap. I'm not feeling 100% today because I managed to sneak into the big living room and nibble a bit on some of the plants.
Nestling down among the huge pillows in the Mom-Hooman's office!
Not to worry, there are no toxic (for cats) plants in our house, but some of them do make my stomach a little bit upset, so I need to sleep them off and poop them out! And it was a good day for that.
We have had our evening snack time, and now the Hoomans are actually going to watch a movie on TV, so there will be available laps for togetherness!
Smudge, shortly after snack time...
Now that we have entered the second half of the year, I am going to try to get "more serious" about finding other interesting content to post here on Hive, other than just our Caturday updates.
In part because we do still hope to reach our 2025 Hive Power goal by the end the year, but also because Hive seems to have grown a little "stale" and needs as much original individually created content as possible.
Nice and warm!
It's difficult to persuade people to join a community if all you have on offer is a bunch of more or less generic crypto token reports and Actifit updates.
Not suggesting those are the only thing here, but some diversity of content matters, particularly now there are more individual level initiatives underway to bring new users onto Hive.
Shangri says hello!
Of course, "cat content" has always been popular all over the web... so we'll definitely include cat-related stuff, but maybe also other things!
And with that thought, it's time to wrap up this week's Caturday update! We hope you and your Feline friends have had a lovely and relaxing Caturday, and we wish you a great Sunday!
Thanks for visiting our cat blog, and we hope to see you again!

Love Cats? Get Involved in Hive's Cat Communities!
If you're a cat lover and often/sometimes post pictures or other content that includes your feline friends, why not become an active part of Hive's growing Cat Communities?
These are some of the more active Cat Communities — why not join them ALL? Many of the allow you to share your cat posts, even if you started at a different community!
HiveCats by @curatorcat is a central "gathering place" for cat content on Hive; promoting the use of the #hivecats tag for feline content!
Cat Snaps by @manorvillemike is a place to post pictures of your cats when you don't have a whole lot to say beyond just sharing your cute photos!
Caturday by @saboin is a community where we get to celebrate posts relating to Saturday — aka "Caturday" — our own special day!
Cat Photos by @andrarchy is a "mixed use" cat content community; posts can be just photos or longer, as long as the subject is CATS!
Cats by @captainklaus (and Sissi!) is another "general" cat content community.
There are a number of other feline communities listed on Hive, but I am not sharing them for now as they have not had any activity (by their Admins OR users) since the Steem/Hive fork. Updates as they become available!

The kitties look very comfortable and at ease. Good to know that they didn’t get frightened by fireworks. They look much bigger than last year! So cute and long!
Hope more new bloggers would be coming to Hive. There’s a big community of cat lovers in my country. But they only post on FB and TikTok.
We could use more cat lovers here, and we could also use that the existing cat lovers on Hive were more active.
There are over 1,000 subscribers in the "Caturday" community, but not that many posts.

The inkwell community provides some fantastic writing :) (And mine sometimes features cats.)
Also glad to hear your kitties survived July 4th largely unbothered.
All in all, July 4th was quite peaceful and we are grateful for that!
Inkwell community? That sounds intriguing. I used to collect fountain pens, many years back.

Inkwell is all about short writing. So fiction and creative non-fiction thats roughly 1000 words long
