Greetings Fabulous Felines and Hoomans of Hivelandia and surrounding communities!

We have reached the weekend again, and that means Caturday, my favorite day of the week! Time for a cat update and some new photos of us cats, doing what we do best: Lounge around the house.

Looks like we're going to have a quiet week next week because the Dad-Hooman is heading out of town for a few days to California. So it will just be us and the Mom-Hooman for a few days!

That means we'll have a change of venue from the downstairs space in the Dad-Hooman's office (with all the cat towers) to the Mom-Hooman's office where there's a window bed with morning sun, and a big couch covered with pillows and soft blankets!

It will not be for long, though... the Dad-Hooman says he'll be back on late Wednesday night.

This is a bit of a change of routine since it is usually the Mom-Hooman who leaves, but I'm sure we'll be spoiled rotten! Which is as it should be!

What's up?

Meanwhile, spring keeps making itself known, with longer days and more and more daylight and sunshine. It is also getting a little warmer... the heater isn't running during the daytime, which means that sleeping next to an air vent is not as important as it was a couple of months ago.

Of course, we do spend a fair amount of time supervising the Hooman activities. At the moment, the Mom-Hooman is preparing for a "workshop" so we keep checking her progress!

Three cats in ONE bed... because... why not?

Our most furry of housemates, Smudge, is definitely happy for the sun and the warmer weather which keeps here aging bones nice and warm.

At 21, she sleeps more than any of us... except around dinnertime when she shows us why she has earned the nickname "Opera Cat!"

Of course, Spring also means that Smudge will soon be due for her annual "haircut," because she has fur that just keeps growing and growing, and by spring it starts to get rather snarly and matted... and there's no brushing it out.

She doesn't mind too much... and a shave is a lot more comfortable than constant brushing to get the hair mats out!

Meanwhile, we are getting very close to the 8th Anniversary of the Curator Cat blog here on Hive... but we'll have a separate post about that, when it happens!

Suffice it to say that we never imagined that we would still be doing this, after eight years... but we're very grateful that Hive is still here as a venue in which to share weekly cat antics!
