Curator Cat: Caturday and Independence Day!

Greetings Fabulous Felines and Hoomans of Hivelandia and surrounding communities!

Welcome to another weekend and update from our corner of the world, where we are enjoying a beautiful sunny day on my favorite day of the week, Caturday!

Playtime!

Of course, this particular Caturday also happens to fall on July 4th — which is Independence Day here in the USA — and it's actually a very special Independence Day because today the United States is 250 years old!

That might not mean very much to people in parts of the world where nations are thousands of years old, but here in this country the Hoomans are taking it very seriously and having a big celebration!

Hello!

Here at our place, we are taking it fairly quietly as the Hoomans tend to do pretty much every year for this day.

They tend to take an "animals first" perspective because my Hoomans realize that their furry friends do not necessarily share the Hooman enthusiasm for loud noises and fireworks!

Shangri, enjoying a sunny moment!

The Dad-Hooman spent part of the day working outside in the yard, within view of the windows. At the first sound of what he called "teenagers with firecrackers" he came back inside.

Meanwhile, the Mom-Hooman has been in the kitchen, preparing snacks for some kind of "memorial" tomorrow, with which she is helping with the catering.

Nala finds an interesting smell...

Anyway, we would like to take the opportunity to make our annual appeal to All Hoomans out there who are celebrating: remember your Furry Friends, and to leave some safe closet doors open and perhaps to have Windows close and at least one "pet safe" room that won't be so noisy and won't have the flashing lights.

You might find all those fireworks very pretty, and the loud explosions to be fun, but for us Felines (and dogs, as well!) it is just outright scary and we want to hide and get out of the way!

Smudge! One benefit of being partly deaf is not hearing the fireworks!

In other news, earlier this week we passed 7,000 Hive Power on the @curatorcat blog for the first time!

We feel pretty excited about having persisted for so long, and never having powered down in all those years! Naturally, we hope to keep going for many more years.

Relaxed Nala!

And this is where we are going to end it for this weekend. The sun is getting close to the horizon and there's some "popping" in the distance. The Dad-Hooman assures us it's OK... but I'm still nervous.

Anyway, thanks for coming to visit our cat blog, and Happy Independence Day!

=^..^=

Love Cats? Get Involved in Hive's Cat Communities!

If you're a cat lover and often/sometimes post pictures or other content that includes your feline friends, why not become an active part of Hive's growing Cat Communities?

These are some of the more active Cat Communities — why not join them ALL? Many of the allow you to share your cat posts, even if you started at a different community!

HiveCats by @curatorcat is a central "gathering place" for cat content on Hive; promoting the use of the #hivecats tag for feline content!

Cat Snaps by @manorvillemike is a place to post pictures of your cats when you don't have a whole lot to say beyond just sharing your cute photos!

Caturday by @saboin is a community where we get to celebrate posts relating to Saturday — aka "Caturday" — our own special day!

Cat Photos by @andrarchy is a "mixed use" cat content community; posts can be just photos or longer, as long as the subject is CATS!

Cats by @captainklaus (and Sissi!) is another "general" cat content community.

There are a number of other feline communities listed on Hive, but I am not sharing them for now as they have not had any activity (by their Admins OR users) since the Steem/Hive fork. Updates as they become available!
