Guess What You're Looking At — POBPhotoContest — "Green"

So, in service of "posting more regularly," I decided to take part in a contest again, this week.

I am participating in @friendlymoose's weekly #POBphotocontest. This week's subject is "green." You can read the introductory post and rules if you'd like to learn more and participate!

This first photo is my official entry:

This contest turned out to be quite a challenge! It's winter here, and we don't really have very much green around here... just three days ago, we were looking out at snow.

However, I decided that I didn't want to rely on archives (preferred for the contest) so I went in search of green.

Can you guess what you're looking at?

Here's a different shot of the same thing:

It's your regular garden variety parsley, like you might use in cooking!

It's wintering in a pot, in our vegetable garden... and is one of the few very hardy herbs that doesn't really get bothered too much by snow and cold. We can pick it fresh, all winter long.

Another "green" thing I located was, of course, moss:

Moss grows everywhere here, during all seasons. But it's just not very exciting to look at, but it is very green!

In each case, I wanted to take a pretty ordinary thing and present a view of it you don't normally get to see... in this case, creating the illusion of the parsley as an entire forest.

The moss is also shot from a couple of inches away.

The last "runner up" photo was this one:

CCP051WaterDrop.JPG

This one is from the archives, however... but it's a pretty interesting view of a very large drop of water, being held entirely together by surface tension, on a fallen leaf whose surface seems to reject moisture... hence the unusual appearance.

Well, that's it for this contest. Thanks again to @friendlymoose for organizing the contest and offering POB tokens as prizes, and also to @good-karma who's donating @ecency points as prizes!

Thanks for stopping by and having a look!

Good to see you join again. I have a few pots of fresh herbs in my backyard too. Both green and delicious 👍

It's fun to participate when it's a good subject that's easy to relate to. I really do appreciate these contests!
