When Virtual meets Reality

I'm starting to believe that the future has arrived. Last weekend, together with some friends, we went to check out Sentosa's Sensoryscape. It's the latest addition to the wonderful attractions in Resorts World Sentosa that everyone is talking about. It always appears on my Tiktok "for you" page so I can't help but go there and check what it's all about.

I took this photo using my phone and with the help of the ImagiNite app. It combines virtual reality and the real structures surrounding me. It's unlike any attraction that I've seen before. There's no fee to experience Sensoryscape which is puzzling considering how amazing it is.

The attraction stretches from the Imbiah station to the Beach station of Sentosa Express. We started the trail from the Beach station and this is how it looks as I got out of the building and walked closer to Sensoryscape.

There are 3 round instructions along the attraction and I went to one of them to check out the effects that will appear on the photo that I will take.

It works by downloading the by scanning a QR posted on the signage. The installation of the app is quite fast so I did a test.

Here's the structure without adding the effects of the VR.

The structure is made of metal with a consistent flow of water each of every petal that acts as a spout. There are speakers around the play music that mimics nature.

The best part was when I activated the app to overlay the virtual reality effect with the real world.

This is considered the prototype which I believe is going to be improved shortly. Even so, I would say that we are already getting close to the future of VR and or augmented reality.
