Visiting Wachirathan Waterfall in Doi Inthanon

After our visit to the Twin Pagodas of Doi Inthanon, our driver quickly made the arrangement for our next stop, which was the waterfall. But before we went there, we made a quick stop at the Hmong Market to buy some stuff.

The market was actually an awesome experience even though we never really planned for it. I think that’s one of the nice things about having a local driver who knows the area. Sometimes, it’s great to have someone think about the itinerary for you, so you can just relax and follow the flow without worrying too much. LOL.

The Hmong Market was a nice little surprise along the way. It gave us a quick chance to see local products, snacks, souvenirs, and other items being sold in the area. It wasn’t a long stop, but it added another layer to the trip. I always enjoy these kinds of unexpected stops because they make the journey feel more natural and less rushed.

After buying a few things from the market, we went straight to Wachirathan Waterfall. I was really excited because we don’t have this kind of scenery in the city. It’s not something I get to see every day. Actually, it’s a very rare experience for me to be this close to a massive waterfall, so I already knew that this stop would be special.

The way going down to the waterfall was a bit rough because we had to take a smaller road that diverted from the main road. The road was narrow and it felt a little risky because it didn’t seem very easy to drive through. It was the kind of road where you just trust the driver and hope the vehicle can handle the terrain. Luckily, the vehicle we rented was strong enough for it, and our driver seemed confident with the route.

As we got closer, I immediately heard the sound of rushing water even though I couldn’t see the waterfall yet. That sound alone already made me excited. It was loud, powerful, and almost like a warning that something massive was waiting ahead.

When we reached the parking area, I immediately got out to see the falls. From the parking lot, I could only see the rushing river at the base of the waterfall. The water was moving fast, and even from there, I could already feel that the waterfall was huge.

It only took another minute or two of walking to reach the part where we could finally see the full extent of Wachirathan Waterfall. And wow, it was massive. The water was crashing down from the rocky cliff with so much force, surrounded by thick greenery and bright sunlight. It looked so alive. The white water, the brown rocks, the green plants, and the blue sky all worked together to create such a beautiful scene.

Most of the time, the wind was blowing toward us, so the spray from the waterfall was also coming in our direction. LOL. It was impossible to stay completely dry, but that was part of the fun. The mist felt refreshing, especially after walking around under the sun. It also made the whole place feel more dramatic and exciting.

I really enjoyed taking photos here because every angle looked amazing. Whether it was a wide shot of the whole waterfall, a closer view of the water crashing into the rocks, or the path surrounded by trees, everything looked worth capturing.

Overall, visiting Wachirathan Waterfall was one of the most refreshing parts of our Doi Inthanon trip. It was powerful, beautiful, and a great reminder of how amazing nature can be.

See you on my next adventure!
