MY WEEKEND EXPERIENCE: 📸 A photowalk 🚶from the Esplanade station to the Theaters by the Bay
Hello Hivers!
Part of my plans this Saturday is to visit the Marina Bay area. I wanted to see the Sands from the other side of the bay.
To get there, exit D of Esplanade MRT station is the best option for me so that I don’t have to walk far.
This exit will lead me straight to the good spots to take the photos of the Sands. It will also lead me to the Theaters By The Bay which is also an iconic building in this area.
Directly from exit D is the entrance of the shopping mall, I don’t know the name of the mall because it was a confusing route and I was paying attention to the direction of my path.
As soon as I found the exit from the mall that leads to the Esplanade Theaters, I was amazed by the glimpse of the building. It has thorns?
I learned that the building was inspired by the character of the Durian fruit which is a popular delicacy here in Singapore.
It’s a family oriented place as suggested by the sculptures that I saw near the water feature.
There are also benches where you can sit if you get tired of walking. Each of these benches were arrange so that you will have a nice view of the Esplanade Theaters.
There are tall buildings at the surrounding of this area.
I found an interesting waterways that leads to a drain. I’m not sure what it meant but it was an interesting site to see.
Another bench for you to sit on.
A path that leads to the Marina Bay area.
Here’s the creative drain from the earlier photos.
Finally, the Marina Bay Sands. I think I reached the place in the right time. There’s still enough light for me to take clear photos of it.
There are professional photographers and hobbyist who come here just to take photo of the Marina Bay area and especially the Merlion. Wait… where’s the Merlion?
From where I stand, it looks like it’s under renovation.
As I reached the Theaters by the Bay, I can see that there’s a preparation happening for an event.
It’s the Muara Featival. From what I observed, it has something to do with the Malay culture of this country. I can only assume that it has something to do with a musical event because of the instruments that were set up on the stage. There could be traditional dance that could happen because I saw a crew who are wearing their elaborate traditional costumes at the back of the stage.
That looks like a really cool walk! Love the views.
