Is this the reverse panning shot?

Hello Hivers!

Have you ever had a moment when you feel like you discover something cool?

I had it a while ago when I was playing with my phone and taking photos as I wait the arrival of the MRT. I was taking a photo of the tower cranes from a distance and then train suddenly arrives. It was gloomy so the lighting is low. I had to hold a steady hand to avoid resulting to blurry photos. It wasn’t easy so I tried placing my hand over the partition between the waiting area and the tracks of the train, it works!

As I was positioning my phone to the view that I want for the photos, I noticed that the train is quickly approaching the platform. I was able to take the first shot with the complete view of the tower cranes and then on the 2nd shot the train has entered the view.

As quick as I was, right on the 4th shot, I had a full view of the first window in which there are 2 passengers sitting.

I heard about panning shot before and it’s the technique that you use to take a photo of moving subjects by moving your camera to follow its movement. The result will be a clear subject while everything else is blurry.

What I did is the reverse of that 😅.
