City Walks and Quiet Escapes
It’s been a while since I went on a long walk around the city, and I already miss doing this kind of activity. I think it’s a great way to relieve stress, so it’s something I recommend doing at least once a week. This is especially true in a city like ours, where many places are designed for walking or hanging out, whether it’s in the city center like Millenia Walk or in quieter spots like Bishan Park.

This coming weekend, I’m planning to visit a nature park before the rainy season fully sets in. With the kind of weather we've been having lately, it feels like the sunny days are about to end. I want to make the most of it before I end up regretting not getting outside.
When it rains, it really pours. That’s exactly how it is here in Singapore. Sometimes the rain or drizzle lasts all afternoon, leaving me stuck indoors. While the cooler weather during rainy days can be nice, I’m not a fan of walking along wet pavements, LOL.
During the sunnier months, there are places around the city that are just perfect for walking. So let me share a few of my favorite go-to spots.
First is the Millenia Walk area, located in one of the city's business districts, near Suntec.
Lunchtime is a great time to go for a walk here, especially because of how walkable the area is. I enjoy taking a stroll after a good lunch at Suntec Mall. It’s a healthy habit, especially in the middle of the day when I’ve been sitting in front of the computer for hours. It’s relaxing and gives me a bit of quiet time before I get back to work.
Next is Bishan Park.
It’s one of the liveliest and largest parks in the city. There are plenty of open spaces where you can have a picnic or just hang out and watch the river animals go about their day.
And then there’s Jurong Lake Park, which seems to get better every time I visit.
Although the park is still being developed, the traditional pagodas remain the main highlight of the area, adding a timeless charm to the modern landscape.
Exploring the city on foot always gives me a fresh perspective and a chance to slow down amidst the daily hustle. Whether it's a quiet stroll through a park or a walk around a busy mall, these moments remind me to appreciate the little things. I hope this inspires you to take your own walk and rediscover the beauty around you.
Ouch! You hit me hard there. It's been two months since my last walk. Time to walk again.
And no natter how many times you visit the City, you can always find something new to share with everyone no. New sceneries, new subject and everything ✨💃
Yesss!! Nothing beats a good stroll after lunch.
