A Sunny Hello Ride Adventure Around Kallang Stadium
Some mornings just feel too perfect to waste indoors, and today was exactly that kind of day. The sky was bright, the clouds were doing their soft, fluffy thing, and the sun was basically inviting me to step outside and move. So I decided to make it a little adventure around the city.

My day started at Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park, where I did the usual slow wandering, walking, people-watching, and letting the greenery do its magic. It’s one of those parks that makes Singapore feel gentle and spacious. After that, I grabbed brunch (because priorities 😄), and then I pointed myself towards the Kallang Stadium area for the next part of the day.
By the time I reached Geylang Bahru, I realized something: my legs were already tired. The heat was nice, but it was also the kind of nice that quietly turns into “okay I’m sweating now” energy. So instead of forcing another long walk, I did what made the most sense... I rented a Hello Ride bicycle.
That decision instantly changed the pace of the day.
My ride began from Geylang Bahru, and in about 8–10 minutes, I was already gliding into the Kallang area. There’s something special about cycling here because the city becomes so manageable. You stop thinking in terms of “far” and “near” and start thinking in terms of “I can just follow this path and see what I find.” No wonder so many people love biking around Singapore, everything connects so smoothly.

One of my first “curiosity stops” was Kallang Riverside, the condominium that always catches the eye from a distance. Up close, it looks even more striking. The building rises like a quiet statement piece, and the podium design feels like it’s inspired by waves, layers and curves that make it look dynamic even when it’s standing still. From certain angles, it honestly feels like a modern landmark in the neighborhood, especially with the greenery and open space framing it.

From there, I followed the park connector along the river, and this was where the ride started to feel extra satisfying. The path is wide, the scenery keeps changing, and there are so many little corners that make you want to stop for a quick photo, shady stretches under trees, calm water reflecting the sky, and open lawns that feel almost cinematic under the noon light. I even found a peaceful picnic-table spot by the river that looked like the perfect place to just sit, hydrate, and pretend time isn’t real for a minute.

As I continued, I made my way towards the Kallang Stadium, circling around the area and enjoying the lively energy. You can feel the sporty vibe here, wide spaces, people moving around, and even a beach volleyball court nearby that made the whole place feel like a mini holiday scene right in the city.

Eventually, I headed to the Tanjong Rhu Observation Tower, which is such an iconic landmark in this area. It’s one of those structures you don’t forget once you’ve seen it, clean lines, spiral levels, and a viewpoint that rewards you with the kind of scenery that makes you pause.

From there, I could appreciate how far the Kallang River stretches, plus the beautiful condominium lines along the water. The view also gives you a sense of how the city and nature blend so naturally here, one moment you’re watching ripples on the river, and the next you’re noticing the skyline quietly standing in the background.

By the end of the ride, I was happily tired, the good kind of tired. A little tan? Yes. Worth it? Definitely. This felt like the kind of simple weekend adventure that reminds me why I love exploring Singapore: it’s walkable, rideable, and full of corners that surprise you when you least expect it.

I’m pretty sure I’ll do this again next weekend. Cheers 🥂

That's a nice bicycle ride you made there.
Cool to see it's quite green for an urban environment.
It also looks quit calm. No cars or other cyclists.
