A Visit To The Nearby Beach | Pebble Beach

(Edited)

I’ve always wanted to live near the beach, so I could enjoy the sound of the waves and sip my coffee.

I’m thankful that whenever we visit my aunt up north, we can easily hit the beach since they live nearby. Whenever we visit my grandma’s place, it’s convenient for us to go to the beach because our house is right next to the farm and close to the beach.

During our recent visit to La Union, my cousin graciously took us on a tour of Ilocos, where she currently resides. My mom suggested that we visit the pebble beach, which happens to be located near our grandma’s house. I remembered bringing @alliebee and the rest of my friends there last time.

After we finished our coffee from Bean to Elyu, we went home to park the car. We thought it’d be cool to walk to the beach since it’s so close to my grandma’s house.

I captured a photo of this alley because my younger sister and I remembered how steep it was when we were kids. During our summer breaks, we made it a tradition to go cycling in this area and make the most of our time by visiting the beautiful beach nearby. @gabbiebi brought up the idea that the steepness of things might be influenced by our perception when we were younger, but now that we have grown taller (even if it doesn’t feel like it in my case lol), it doesn’t seem as steep anymore.

Perhaps it’s similar when it comes to our perspective on life’s challenges. It might seem challenging at the moment, but with time, it won’t be a big deal.

I was walking alongside my aunt because she never stops talking and I’m always entertained by whatever she talks about. I kinda prefer listening over talking, I guess. It’s cool to see how people think about stuff.

We were on our way to the beach when my aunt noticed the chili plant. The plant is flourishing! She also mentioned how fortunate we are to have a province like this, next to the farm and close to the beach.

On our way to the beach, we passed by this little alley. One thing that I distinctly remember from our childhood is how our grandma used to pick sugar apple leaves as a means to repel the evil eye. It’s like our go-to beach accessory. I have no clue how accurate this is, tbh. Maybe my grandma just wanted some sugar apple leaves 🤪

image.png

After going through the alley, we came across an empty lot. My grandma and dad were like celebrities, everyone would say hi when we walked by, and they’d chat for a bit before we continued our stroll.

There is a vacant lot beside us that serves as a route for cyclists and motorcyclists to get to the road.

We have arrived at the beach, finally. The place is called Pebble Beach, but before you get to the pebbles, there’s a sandy area. It made my youngest sister happy because she loves rocks and the beach!

We sat close to the waves without worrying about getting wet. We didn’t bring any spare clothes or a towel but we didn’t care. The waves’ inviting sound lured us into the water for a swim.

We patiently waited until the sun had set. Personally, I believe that the most gorgeous thing to witness is the sunset by the beach. While we were enjoying the beautiful sunset and the sound of the waves, my uncle who’s into fishing, came and invited us to go fishing with him.

We didn’t want to miss out on the experience, so we decided to stay and be a part of it as well. Totally worth it! I’ll fill you in on the deets in my next blog.

That's it for my #WednesdayWalk, an initiative of @tattoodjay.

'Til my next Wednesday walk!
