Fantastic scenes around TaiTong, Taiwan

Today is our last full day in TaiTong (also spelled TaiTung), Taiwan. Needless to say, it was a busy day. So we are feeling alive and happy.

We started early because it would get hot quickly. So at almost six in the morning, I snapped this picture of the sky from our hotel window. Then we went to TaiTong park. We walked around the lake and watched a class of students paddle board. By the time we finished, it started to heat up, so we tried to find somewhere cool. Unfortunately, everywhere outside was hot and humid, so we went back to the hotel to rest for a while.

After a cool break at the hotel, we went out for lunch. We passed this strange, yet beautiful building. My son wanted to try "WOW Burger", so he got a smash burger. My wife got Thai curry. I has a cold coffee. Honestly, I wasn't feeling well. Just too hot. So I skipped lunch.

Just across the street from the hotel was the "Twilight Market". It wasn't late enough for the market to be open, but they had many interesting artistic creations to see. This area was a train station. However, it was closed and turned into a community for artists and vendors.

All kinds of fun and beautiful artistic expressions. This kind of area is becoming popular in Taiwan. Instead of tearing things down and building on top, they assign artists to make it beautiful and draw tourists. What an excellent concept to make the world more beautiful.

It was still a little hot, so we went to the hotel roof pool. We were enjoying the cool water when the weather started to change. As you can see in the pictures, it was raining in the distance. We were worried that it would come out way, but it didn't.

In my previous post on our trip yesterday I mentioned the incredible mountains and how they seem to pop up. These pictures are great examples of that.

Then it was finally twilight and the twilight market was open. This area is known as Tie Hua Village - it's meaning is poetic is Chinese. It means the flower village from the train. So as mentioned, the artists transformed the old train station into this fun, artistic area.

Another popular theme of this area is hot air balloons. So the twilight market is decorated with lights that are similar to Chinese Lanterns, but in the shape of hot air balloons.

A very fun trip and I wish we had more time, but it's back to work. So tomorrow morning we will drive around the southern part of Taiwan and up the west coast to our home. It should take about six hours depending if we stop anywhere. Hopefully, we will stop at many places.
