Los incendios forestales en Bolivia están contaminando nuestro aire, afectando a todos por igual

Desde hace semanas, en mi ciudad de Santa Cruz de la Sierra y varios departamentos de Bolivia estamos viviendo una crisis de contaminación del aire debido a la quema indiscriminada de bosques. Este acto inhumano, llevado a cabo por personas inescrupulosas con intereses egoístas, no solo está destruyendo la naturaleza, sino también poniendo en peligro la salud de todos nosotros, sin importar si somos ricos o pobres, buenos o malos. La afectación es para todos, y tristemente, los animales y la fauna, que no tienen voz ni forma de defenderse, están sufriendo aún más.

Este tipo de personas que han afectado al país quemando nuestros bosques, que solo piensan en llenar sus bolsillos a costa del futuro, deberían desaparecer del planeta. Su codicia está dejando cicatrices profundas en nuestra tierra y comprometiendo el futuro de las próximas generaciones, incluyendo el de sus propios hijos.

Es urgente que dejemos de ser blandos ante esta situación. Ya no podemos cerrar los ojos frente a la devastación que está ocurriendo a nuestro alrededor. Necesitamos tomar una posición firme, exigir un cambio real en las políticas y, además, pedir ayuda internacional. La situación se ha descontrolado, y mientras algunos esperan la llegada de la lluvia para apagar los incendios, muchos de nosotros también aguardamos que el humo que cubre nuestras ciudades disminuya para poder respirar con normalidad nuevamente.

Por ahora no se puede decir que nuestra ciudad Santa Cruz de la Sierra está bajo el cielo más puro de América como dice una canción.

Hago un llamado a toda la comunidad internacional, a todas las voces dispuestas a ayudarnos, a que no nos dejen solos en esta batalla. ¡El tiempo para actuar es ahora!

Environmental crisis in Bolivia: the air we breathe is at risk

Forest fires in Bolivia are polluting our air, affecting everyone equally.

For weeks now, in my city of Santa Cruz de la Sierra and several departments of Bolivia we have been experiencing an air pollution crisis due to the indiscriminate burning of forests. This inhumane act, carried out by unscrupulous people with selfish interests, is not only destroying nature, but also endangering the health of all of us, regardless of whether we are rich or poor, good or bad. Everyone is affected, and sadly, animals and wildlife, who have no voice or way to defend themselves, are suffering even more.

These kind of people who have affected the country by burning our forests, who only think about filling their pockets at the expense of the future, should disappear from the planet. Their greed is leaving deep scars on our land and compromising the future of the next generations, including that of their own children.

It is urgent that we stop being soft in the face of this situation. We can no longer close our eyes to the devastation that is happening around us. We need to take a firm stand, demand a real change in policies and, in addition, ask for international aid. The situation has gotten out of control, and while some are waiting for the rain to put out the fires, many of us are also waiting for the smoke that covers our cities to diminish so that we can breathe normally again.

For now it cannot be said that our city Santa Cruz de la Sierra is under the purest sky of America as a song says.

I appeal to the entire international community, to all the voices willing to help us, not to leave us alone in this battle. ¡The time to act is now!
