Summer Wednesday Walk

| Hello, friends! Yesterday, my wife, our kids, and I went out for a walk. The summer weather was perfect — not too hot, with a pleasant breeze, and fluffy white clouds drifting across a blue sky. It was a lovely walk, even though we had to go along the highway — our little one really wanted to watch the cars rushing back and forth. At some point, I noticed storks circling in the sky beyond the road. Two of them were descending toward a third that was walking across a field. I took a photo — it’s the first one here, though, unfortunately, the storks are barely visible. You can try zooming in, but unless you have sharp eyes, they might just look like tiny specks in the distance. | Привіт, друзі! Учора ми з дружиною та дітьми вирушили на прогулянку. Була чудова літня погода: не спекотно, дув приємний помірний вітер, а на блакитному небі пливли пухнасті білі хмаринки. Йти було дуже приємно, навіть попри те, що прогулянка пролягала вздовж шосе — наш малий хотів дивитися на машини, що мчали по своїх справах в обидві сторони. Я помітив, як у небі, вдалині за дорогою, кружляли лелеки. Двоє з них опускалися до третього, який походжав по полі. Я зробив фото — це перше фото, але, на жаль, лелек там навряд чи видно. Можна спробувати збільшити зображення, але для когось із не надто гострим зором вони можуть залишитися просто маленькими цятками. |

| We kept walking, enjoying the breeze that was driving the heat away. The sun peeked out from behind the clouds now and then, warming the backs of our necks a bit, but overall the weather was perfect — just the kind that’s ideal for drying hay. In the photo, you can see a tractor that has already mowed a large field and is now turning the hay with a special attachment. The wind and sun are doing their job — in just two or three days, the hay will be ready to collect and store, so the cows will have feed for the winter and continue to give milk. | Ми йшли далі, насолоджуючись вітром, що гнав спеку геть. Сонце іноді визирало з-поміж хмар і трохи припікало потилиці, але загалом погода була ідеальна — саме така, що добре сушить сіно. На фото видно, як трактор покосив велике поле й тепер обертає сіно спеціальним пристроєм. Вітер і сонце роблять свою справу — вже за 2–3 дні це сіно можна буде прибирати на зберігання, щоб корови взимку мали корм і давали молоко. |

| I also noticed a huge fluffy “flower” by the roadside — or rather, no longer a flower, but a fully matured and fluffy seed head of a thistle. It was so large and striking that I stopped to take a photo — I don’t think I’ve ever seen such an impressive one before! | Ще на узбіччі я помітив величезну пухнасту "квітку" — точніше, вже не квітку, а повністю дозрілу пухнасту насіннєву голівку осоту. Вона була такою великою, що я зупинився й зробив фото — раніше таких розкішних не бачив! |

| Then we turned off the main road onto a village street and walked toward the local shop. In the distance, the roof of the village church gleamed brightly — it was painted in a deep yellow, almost golden color. | Потім ми звернули з головної дороги на сільську вуличку й пішли до магазину. Вдалині виблискував дах місцевої церкви — він був пофарбований у насичений жовтий, майже золотий колір. |

| Roses were blooming all along the roadside. I took a photo of one of the bushes especially for you. This year, as my wife noted, the roses are blooming much longer than usual. Typically, when it’s hot, they fade quickly, but this mild weather really supports a prolonged blooming season. And that’s a joy, because beauty always brings delight to the eye. And who knows — by the end of summer, we might even get a second wave of blooms. | Уздовж дороги всюди квітнули троянди. Я зробив фото одного куща спеціально для вас. Цього року, як підмітила моя дружина, троянди цвітуть особливо довго. Зазвичай, коли стоїть спека, вони швидко відцвітають, але ця помірна погода дуже сприяє тривалому цвітінню. І це тішить, бо краса — завжди радість для ока. А ще, наприкінці літа, нас, можливо, чекатиме друга хвиля цвітіння. |
