Where I live, we have institutions divided into 2 sects. First you study till 12th class in the school and in the school your 10th and 12th class are untitled as "Board classes", after 10th whatever marks you score you decide to proceed and take a specific stream according to your interest and then after passing out 12th your percentage let's you join a institution/college for studying further which totally depends upon what you study, it might take around 3-4 years or sometimes it extends to 5-6 years.

Since the time I have been studying, we are guided to make notebooks for written practices or work and then with the growing time and class we have a lot of syallabus which needs to be covered and along with that we also have to write.

I don't think or consider it to be a good practice as what we do is write about 10-12 questions per chapter mentioned at the end of the chapter, in the conclusion part when the chapter ends they ask us some questions about what our understanding is on that topic and sometimes these questions extend till 20 and that's seriously crazy.

The thing which is already mentioned in the book needs to be rewritten again just in order to get the marks for assessment. As on our report card which we get after every class or semester contains the marks which are divided in a way of the marks scored in the examination and on the completion of the notebooks.

What I believe is that there should definitely be a change in such methods of teaching, written practices should be changed to the practical teaching and training and along with that competency based questions should be questioned not the one's which the students just memorise and then write as it is.

Nowadays, rote learning is a very common practice or method used by the students to learn and prepare for their exams because the syallabus is too much and what we are made learnt is actually of no use, so what I saw and heard was that it is the most easiest way to score good marks, everybody is after scoring marks rather understanding the thing.

From the time being I'm studying in the school and now in the college I seriously don't think whatever I learnt is helping me. Not Helping I say in the sense that some subject are just for increasing the performance of examination because if only analytical skills and mathematical problems are being asked then most of the students will lack getting good score s.

I think this system should definitely be changed and what we should be learning or studying should be related to the topics which are going to help us in proceeding in our career or profession because I don't think when I'll be going for an interview for performing Artificial Intelligence no body's gonna ask me what's the history of my country.
