Cats of May

We live with cats, they are omnipresent. Crypticat and the Coon lead different lifestyles and are two different types of cats, one is Siberian and one is a Maine Coon. For those of you who don't have the pleasure of knowing these breeds, they're two of the best. Living in the North we like having fluffy cats, it has been a long winter but now they are getting geared up to go outside.

Spring time means shedding that winter coat, it is oddly satisfying to fill the vacuum a couple times each week. Cats and kid toys go hand in hand, it is entertaining to watch them play with eachothers things. Or twice as annoying, depending on what your outlook is.

The coon looks different when outside. The natural light is absorbed differently by her fur then the lesser spectrum indoor light. Cat's exhibit Crepuscular Activity, they are pretty lazy during the day and night, but are active in mornings and evenings. This works into our schedule fairly well.

During times of renovations, they are worse than useless. Painting, tiling or even some basic tasks can become a challenge with a fluffy cat.

Crypticat likes to chill and watch, but the Coon is always getting in the way. I felt terrible having to lock her in the basement for weeks when doing the floors but trust me, when you spread mortar, the last thing you want is a cat running through it and tracking it all over your home.

LASER COON, if you think laser pointers are entertaining for animals, try a laser leveller. There is so much going on, they don't even know what to do.

For those of you knowing what is going on here, you can see, renovations are twice as fun with cats. Luckily for us, is we aren't getting paid by the hour here.

You want to inspect those tiles to make sure they are in a row. Walls aren't usually straight in houses and going around a kitchen island or even an empty room will be a problem if every tile is slightly off as after 5 or 10 tiles it becomes very obvious. The coon makes sure to inspect things real good.

After a long day of work, the coon is conked out. She would drive me crazy crying from the basement, so when we weren't grouting or spreading mortar it was okay for her to come upstairs. Usually she wasn't napping, if there was mortar, she was in it.

When we came back from winter vacation, our cats were chilling on the bed together. This is what a months' worth of fluff looks like, we can see they spent a lot of time in this room.
