While biking to work

While biking to work one day last week, I don't recall which day because it was kind of a busy one, but I literally jammed on the brakes when I saw this.

It was, I learned thus summer, the "blue hour"...the short while just before sunrise. It doesn't look blue, but higher up above the golden horizon was the blue. The gold-to-blue is so beautiful.

These beautiful skies are real presents in the early morning!

Blue hour is the morning version of the golden hour around sunset.

Although I can't really see if there are people in the photo (which is the subject of this round of the #POBphotocontest), but it is a cool shot anyways.

No, no people. I didn't know there were to be people...I just had the photo.

From my understanding, theres a blue hour and gold hour both in the morning and evening. The blue is just before sunrise or just after sunset. The gold is just after sunrise ir just before sunset. I guess it gies blue, gold, gold, blue. But I'll have to look it up again to be sure.

I've looked it up and you are almost right;

What Is Blue Hour?
Blue hour is simply the time of day before sunrise and after sunset when the atmosphere has a deep, dark blue color.

Like the famous “golden hour,” blue hour is not really an hour. Its exact length depends on your latitude, time of year, and weather conditions. The important thing is that the sun must be a decent way beneath the horizon, and the sky can’t have too many sunrise or sunset colors – mainly just blue.

So your photo is actually a golden hour photo. But still nice.
